Weather Forecast in Chile

Chile is in the southern hemisphere, so it goes into its winter when we are beginning our summer. It has four seasons. The climatic changes in this country are extreme. The influence of the Andes Cordillera means that you can go from a sunny beach to snowy peaks in less than two hours. The north, between Arica and Antofagasta, is a large arid desert where it is very hot in summer (it can reach 45C in the middle of the Atacama Desert) and mild all winter (between 14 and 25C). The climate in the region of Santiago is Mediterranean, with the temperature reaching 28C in January and February and 10C in July and August. The summers are dry and the winter can be rainy. The climate in the far south is polar in winter and cool throughout summer. It rains all year long but there is still plenty of sunshine. The water off the Chilean coasts is not known for being warm! Even in the middle of summer, the cool currents in the north mean it barely reaches 20C.
