A country of monsoons, in general Thailand has two seasons. From November to February, the climate is dry and cool; this is the best time to travel (the sky is blue and temperature hovers around 25°C). The temperature at night in the north can drop to below 10°C. There is a scorching hot period between seasons in March and April (with the temperature around 35°C) that can last up to the end of May when the rains begin. This sub-season does not exist in the south. Generally speaking, the further south you go, the longer the rainy season. On average, it lasts from June to October with September being the month to avoid (because of heavy rains).
