Weather Forecast in Ukraine

Thanks to artic influences, the Ukraine experiences a bitter winter, though it is shorter and slightly warmer than the Russian equivalent. Between the end of November and the start of April, temperatures are regularly sub-zero (between -1 and -15°C). Kiev is covered by snow for nearly 100 days. The cold gets even more intense towards the North, and especially on the large plains to the East, where snowstorms are common. To the South, near the banks of the Black Sea, winter temperatures are milder (between 1 and
7°C). Between April and May, the snow disappears from the plains and temperatures rise rapidly (between
14 °C in Kiev and 18 °C in Odessa on average). At the end of Spring, storms are common, especially in the West of the country.
Lasting right up to the end of September, the Ukranian summer is long, and often very hot (up to26-28 °C in Crimea). During this season, the Black sea is a pleasant temperature (between 20 and 24 °C). The climate in Kiev is ideal (between 18 and 24° C). The rainy season is June/July, but the rain is not excessive and so the country suffers rather from drought in the Summer period.
Therefore, the best period during which to visit the Ukraine is between May and September.
