PortAventura, the best theme park in Spain

After Disneyland Paris, PortAventura is the second most visited park in Europe. Located in the south-west of Barcelona, in the province of Tarragona to be precise, this huge playground offers themed attractions and shows, as well as numerous hotels, shops and restaurants in each zone. The park is made up of six zones inspired by the most exotic places on the planet. It also has a water park, the Caribe Aquatic Park, and Ferrari Land. Whether with family or friends, this land of adventure has something for everyone, and promises a great time!

The park and its themes

On a vast site of over 227 hectares, visitors discover a universe divided into five distinct cultural worlds: the Mediterranean, Mexico, the Wild West, China and Polynesia. Each region has its own attractions for young and old, its own gastronomy and typical products, and even its own music, which changes with the world! Between two breathtaking attractions, there's always plenty to see and do!

Caribe Aquatik Park is PortAventura's second park, with an outdoor aquatic section open in summer and an indoor section. Covering more than 34,000 m², the world is dedicated to the Caribbean and the various pleasures of water, with shows, attractions and endless slides. Since April 2017, the park has been home to a third park: Ferrari Land, with 11 attractions on the theme of Formula 1 and the world of Ferrari.

Why miss a day at PortAventura?

PortAventura's star attractions include Hurakan Condor (Mexico), with its 3-second, 86-metre free-fall, Dragon Khan (China), with its 8 loops, Shambhala (China), a 78-metre-high rollercoaster, Stampida (Far West), Europe's highest rollercoaster, Furious Baco (Mediterranean), a train that accelerates from 0 to 135 km/h in 3 seconds, and finally Angkor (China), Europe's longest water ride. And let's not forget Sesamo Aventura, the children's world, and its flagship attraction, Sesame Street. In the evening, each world offers its own shows, so there's something for all ages and tastes!

The park is also very popular for Halloween, from late September to early November. There are plenty of ways to share the torments of fear, horror and fright with family and friends. Then comes the magic of Christmas, which takes over the site from late November to early January, the last highlight of the year before the annual closure from early January to late March.
