Be careful when choosing, not all road trips are suitable for everyone. Happily, the UK has many legendary roads to offer so look for that one that might suit you, depending on your interests. Make sure your wheels are well inflated and that you have enough music to listen to throughout the whole journey!

1- Causeway Coastal Route, Northern Ireland

If you're a coast lover, enjoy looking at the shores, the cliffs and smelling the salty smell of the sea, then, this road trip is perfect for you. Come on board and discover the true charms of Northern Ireland.

Itinerary:

As your journey starts in Belfast, Northern Ireland’s capital, and takes an end in the historical City of Derry, you’ll discover the country’s coastline along the magnificent Atlantic Ocean.

Less than an hour from the capital you’ll do your first stop in Gobbins Cliff Path. Also known as the most dramatic coastal walk in Europe, you’ll cross a wild cliff-face while watching the majestic sea below you. But that's not all, this site is renowned for its biodiversity, making it an ideal place for birdwatching as well as for looking out for the dolphins and turtles that live in these waters.

Continue your road trip and head for the Cushendun caves! The caves, located near the picturesque seaside village of Cushendun, are a natural site formed over 400 million years ago. This place may ring a bell, you've probably already seen it in the fantasy series Games of Thrones. Indeed, the series drew inspiration from Northern Ireland to film several scenes there. Another place to see on this route, also featured in the TV series, is the Dark Hedges. This eerie avenue of beech trees is located inland, just a few miles from the coast.

On your journey, be sure to cross the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, which links the mainland to the island of Carrickarede. Hopefully you're not afraid of heights and can take in the spectacular views from the bridge.

From now on, get ready to see the most spectacular natural site on the route, as it is the result of an ancient volcanic eruption. The Giant's Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this area is made up of around 40,000 regularly interlocking polygonal basalt columns. Thus, climb the columns and soar high above the land, to see the wonders of this preserved area.

Before finishing your trip, visit Dunluce Castle, a ruined mediaeval castle that plunges straight into the sea. Incredible, isn't it?

Your last stop is Derry. Don't worry, your journey isn't over yet, as you'll discover this city, also known for being the setting for the comedy sitcom "Derry Girls".

2- Ben Nevis to the Isle of Skye, Scotland

For lovers of the mystical, this trip will satisfy all your needs. From the famous locations used in the Harry Potter fantasy saga to the famous legend of the Loch Ness monster and the fairytale myths surrounding the mysterious Isle of Skye, you'll have direct access to the magic and mystery of each story.

Itinerary:

The trip starts near the town of Fort William, from Ben Nevis, also known as the highest mountain in the UK at 1,345 metres above sea level. This popular spot for climbers is the perfect place to start, offering breathtaking views of the majestic mountains.

From this landmark, you head for Mallaig, a port located in the charming village of Morar across the Isle of Skye. On the way to this stop, you'll have plenty of opportunities to stop.

First of all, before arriving in Mallaig visit the various lakes, also known as "Lochs" in Scotland. Along the way, you'll see Loch Eil and Loch Morar. This may remind you of Loch Ness, a large freshwater lake famous for the myth of the Loch Ness Monster. Whether you believe it or not, you can take a diversion to the north and see if the legend is true.

After this adventure, don't forget to stop off at Glenfinnan Viaduct, a destination probably familiar to Harry Potter fans as this railway viaduct is part of the Hogwarts Express route. Try to find the highest spot from the hillside to see the Jacobite steam train crossing the bridge and capture the best shot! Note that the train only crosses the bridge two or four times a day, so check the timetable before you go.

When you arrive at Mallaig Harbour, you can relax in this small harbour and watch the sea, or take the ferry straight to the Isle of Skye. As you discover one of the country's most beautiful islands, be prepared to roam the island and seek out its best points of interest. The island is 50 miles long and 25 miles wide, which is big enough to contain many incredible places and small enough to discover everything. You'll find that this land is home to some fascinating wildlife, as you're likely to spot hairy coos, sea eagles and other types of fauna. 3- Atlantic Highway, England

In the south-west of England, join the A39 for your road trip in Cornwall, ideal for nature lovers, for those looking for the perfect moment when the beauty of the land meets the calm of the Atlantic coast.

Itinerary:

We suggest you start your itinerary in beautiful Bude, a seaside town in Cornwall. Known for its magnificent beaches and steep cliffs, this town is perfect for sunny days. Your starting point is also home to Bude Castle, a heritage museum which you can visit on your own.

After discovering the beginning of your itinerary, you'll make your first stop at Crackington Haven, a coastal village not far from the Atlantic Highway. This area offers beautiful natural scenery perfect for a picnic, as you may need a break after trying out one of the village walking trails.

Now head for Boscastle, a picturesque village with a fishing port of the Middle Age on Cornwall's north coast. Don't hesitate to stop here for a coffee or a beer in a typical pub after you've had a good look around this typical place.

Have you ever dreamt of visiting a village full of magic? If so, drive to Tintagel, a village closely linked to the tales of the sorcerer Merlin and the legendary King Arthur. It is said that King Arthur was conceived in the village's mediaeval castle with a little help from the wizard's magic. Another pretty village on your list is Port Isaac. This small fishing village is full of charm and looks like the perfect place to spend a quiet afternoon. In the same vein, look out for the town of Padstow, whose harbour is well worth a visit thanks to the beautiful houses that surround it.
