This luxury hotel is of a very good standing. This hotel is made for those seeking excellent comfort as well as numerous and impeccable services. Its only downside is the distant location.
The hotel is 2 miles from Sultanahmet, around 10 minutes by tramway. The airport is 6 miles away.
The 249 rooms (including 18 suites) are spacious and luxurious. The comfort there is modern and the decor is refined. Beige and brown colours in all the rooms, they are warm. Well equipped, they have a coffee and tea kit, satellite television and a mini-bar. For the standard rooms, the safe is at the reception. The bathrooms, in black marble, are equipped with bathtub and shower, numerous hospitality products (with cotton buds and comb), telephone and hair-dryer.
A modern 9-storey building, the hotel, which has belonged to the Spanish chain Barcelo since December 2004, has a grand hotel entrance. It was renovated in 2005, The lobby is very large and bright: marble, carpet, plants, small living areas and grand piano. On one side it overlooks the restaurant Picasso, and on the other, the Mey Lounge. Classic and luxurious, the communal areas offer a very good level of comfort in a warm environment. The "Aqualife Club", in the basement, allows you to relax. It is equipped with a nice pool and a large fitness room (7 am to 10 pm) and a massage room (for a fee).
The Picasso offers you the three meals. Between 7 am and 10 am, breakfast is a magnificent and generous inter-continental buffet. Between noon and 2.30 pm, lunch is also served as a beautiful buffet, but you can choose the Turkish and international specialities on the menu, which are also available for dinner, from 7 pm to 10 pm. Each month you will enjoy a gastronomic week in the hotel. A particular cuisine is chosen and the dishes are prepared accordingly (Libanese, Mexican...). The Mey Lounge offers you drinks and some snacks or tapas. Don't forget that this is a Spanish chain!
The hotel is facing a 4 lane road, which makes it noisy and not very nice. However the hotel's infrastructures will make you forget this annoyance. 18 interconnected rooms are available to families. There are 2 non-smoking floors. WiFi is available throughout the hotel (for a fee).
The hotel had an attractive idea: 2 rooms are specially equipped for women and 2 others are antiallergic (wood flooring instead of carpet).

A simple and welcoming hotel for a comfortable stay in the old town at an interesting price.
A charming, very well-kept hotel near the historical sites of the old town. Our favourite hotel in this area.
A French-speaking hotel that is ideal as a cheap pied-a-terre in the old town, with a minimum of comfort.
The closest seaside hotel to Istanbul. To make the most of the sun, sea and sports, always with the option of a few town visits.
Small hotel in the heart of Sultanahmet, the Empire Palace offers a decent level of comfort in a familial and convivial atmosphere.
A nice surprise from the Best Western chain. The Senator has classic charm with marble, statues and antique chandeliers. Calm and comfort 2 miles from Sultanahmet.
A small hotel on a human scale, the Yigitalp has a good level of comfort in a pleasant, unpretentious setting. Laleli district, where it is located, is good for experiencing a bit of local colour.
This little hotel located in the lively centre of Istanbul, close to Taksim square, has both authentic charm and a modern style.
Without being overbearing, it offers very decent services to its diverse clientele, whether their needs be of the classic sort or more business-oriented.
This is definitely an address to keep in mind, especially for the welcome it offers its guests.
As its name indicates, the Sumahan on the Water is a little world on the water. Inside, it displays a balance of lines and shapes that create a modern style and is never cold. This is a bit of a surprise given the exterior aspect of the building, which management wanted to keep as nondescript as possible.
This effort to go unnoticed speaks of the attention afforded to the guests, in terms of welcome, service, and cuisine. The Sumahan blends luxury and attention to detail together with know-how, efficiency, good taste, and quality.
It also commands one of the finest views of the Bosphorus there is. It really is in a league of its own.
This is a prestigious hotel offering the services of large European hotels combined with oriental charm. The setting is incredibly romantic, making the Ciragan Palace an ideal location for any honeymoon and all types of celebration. It is undoubtedly one of the best hotels in Istanbul.
The Four Seasons is indisputably the most charming place in Istanbul. Nothing is left to chance in this old restored prison: neither decor, nor service. An excellent place to enjoy top-class service in the heart of one of the most beautiful historical sites in the old town.
Like the phoenix, the Çiragan Palade has risen from the ashes to produce a high-ranking and very charming hotel. An exceptional location by the Bosphorus in order to stay in the same place where sultans lived.
An elegant, quality international hotel for business people and holidaymakers. Great food too.
The Hotel Hilton in Istanbul offers all the standard comfort of large business hotels, but this place is also suitable for tourists and anyone who wants high-quality services. It is rare in Istanbul to find a hotel with a large landscaped garden.
Located close to the business quarter and the best bars and nightclubs in Istanbul, the Intercontinental Ceylan offers all the services of a top international hotel. A practical and comfortable place with no unpleasant surprises.
The Conrad hotel is one of the major international hotels in Istanbul. A place away from the hustle and bustle of the old town, but close to the Bosphore, the Ortaköy and the Dolmabahçe Palace.
