This hotel is a safe choice in the district of luxury hotels (the Ritz is in the area), a location adapted to high class shopping, or for strolling around Green Park. You should also note that the Meridien Piccadilly has a swimming pool as well as a gym. Which will allow you to plan a sports session before dinner. In the restaurant illuminated by a glass roof. The setting and service are worth trying out.

    Location 6.51 /10

On Piccadilly, the major street linking to Piccadilly Circus (underground station of the same name). The city centre (Covent Garden) is 2 stations away (no change), the Eurostar terminal of Saint-Pancras is 5 stations away (on the same line). Allow a journey time of 10 to 15 minutes.

    Accommodation 8.45 /10

There are 266 rooms in all. Across the categories 'classic', 'deluxe' and 'executive', they stretch over at least 22m² each. The decoration varies according to the categories, while still preserving some common features: varnished wood, thick curtains, cushions on the bed, framed etchings. As for the view, the windows overlook Piccaddilly, Regent Street or the back of the building (less interesting, but quieter). The facilities are that of a luxury hotel, with a marble bathroom, a bathtub (and a separate shower sometimes), dressing gowns, a hairdryer, orange blossom scented hospitality products (40ml). The bedrooms are equipped with air-conditioning and a TV set. Tea and coffee making facilities are complementary. There is also a telephone, a safe and a mini-bar.

    Overview 9.20 /10

Few London hotels have a complete fitness centre; it should be highlighted that the Meridien Piccadilly is equipped with a beautiful indoor swimming pool (roughly 15x15m) surrounded by pillars. The access is free for the guests of the hotel, and so is it for the sauna, the hammam and the gym. Two beauty salons are part of the fitness centre (body and facial care using Decléor cosmetics). Finally, two squash courts are available for rental if you are interested. The rest of the amenities (lobby, bedrooms, bar and restaurant) are distributed on the 9 floors of the Georgian building. The decoration is both classical and contemporary, rather opulent (varnished wood, leather or velour armchairs, figurative or semi-abstract paintings on the walls).

    Food and drink 8.70 /10

Located on the second floor, the restaurant is topped with a glass roof and overlooks Piccadilly. A very bright environment, sufficiently spaced out tables to ensure enough privacy for the guests, attentive staff... The setting is all ready for you to have a very pleasant meal. A buffet is served for breakfast (with a varied selection of hot and cold dishes). For lunch and dinner, you can have à la carte meals or set menus. Lunch for two is better value: "starter and main course" or "main course and dessert" options are available for £43 instead of £27 if you take your meal on your own. The plates are presented as if intended for a culinary competition, the recipes are well interpreted. "Nouvelle cuisine", with Mediterranean flavours and small portions. Not always very original however: read the menu carefully and avoid the tomato and mozzarella salad or the salmon tartar.

    To know

A historic hotel on the chic street of Piccadilly, the Meridien is close to Green Park. You should also see: the small Saint-James' market, in front of the church of the same name (opposite the hotel). Handicraft and traditional objects, from Tuesday to Saturday.
And as you are strolling along Piccadilly, stop at the Japanese cake shop on n# 44 - Kamakura Minamoto Kitchoan. What a good opportunity to take home an unexpected and tasty souvenir!
    Accommodation tip
The bedrooms are spacious from the first category onwards (called 'classic'). They offer 22 m² of space, just like the executive ones. For accommodation for three, we recommend you to book a deluxe bedroom, with a larger surface area, although a single bed can be added to an executive room.

The Sofitel London Saint James is one of the most sought-after hotels for a stay in London (whether on business or a weekend break), as it has everything to offer (comfort, location, cuisine, etc.) and reasonable prices. If the hotel is full (which is often the case), book a table in the restaurant for an excellent and reasonably-priced meal.

The exclusive St. James's Hotel and Club is appropriately tucked away discreetly at the end of a cul-de-sac behind The Ritz on Piccadilly. While perhaps not quite of the same standing as its West End neighbour, the property is nonetheless a class act and has a history and following to rival that of any London hotel. The guestrooms are decorated and appointed to the highest standards and feature every amenity expected of a place like St. James's. As well as Michelin star dining and a service of the utmost attention to detail, the hotel still operates as a club to the rich and famous so you never know who you will be rubbing shoulders with when you stay here. More of a couples' or individual hotel, the St. James's is the place to come for intimacy, discretion and privacy.

Standing in the very desirable Piccadilly district, the appropriately named Soho Sanctum Hotel opened the doors of its sanctuary in summer 2009. You won't need a spa and a host of massage treatments to feel good here though. The small scale of the hotel, its meticulous decor, and the impeccable service provided are enough to relax the body, mind, and soul. This small hotel will appeal to all types of clientele and particularly young couples.

This legendary chain hotel, which has stood at the heart of the British capital for over a century, really needs no introduction. This uber-famous chain has only 3 European hotels, namely in Madrid, Paris, and London. Although they all are run independently of each other, they all share an exciting history and provide ultra-chic surroundings, from the communal areas to the huge guest rooms. Do be aware though, that if you're planning on visiting this legendary establishment, if only to partake of its traditional afternoon tea, you will need to show your credentials, be appropriately dressed, and have a nice full wallet.

In very much the same way as the opening of The Savoy caused tongues to wag furiously back in 1889 with its electricity, new fangled lifts and en suite bathrooms, the reopening after three years of renovation on 10th October 2010 was the biggest talking point in the British, if not world, hotel industry. Brought back to its full Art Deco and Edwardian glory, The Savoy is now bigger and better than ever. The jewel in the crown of London's hotels now has several new features and much of what came before has had a full face lift. Immaculate rooms, exquisite dining and the finest of décor make of The Savoy the only place to stay in this town. It proves that class is timeless.

The beautiful gothic St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, now almost 140 years old, is located right next to King's Cross St Pancras, which might not be in the most glamorous of neighbourhoods, but the hotel's 1800 period charm is unbeatable. The enormous hotel raised to the grey London skies with its stern-looking clock tower and turrets, looks extremely daunting, but once inside, the atmosphere is cosy and warm. A great place to stay for business people needing to be close to the station, but also a fun and unusual experience for leisure guests. The only hotel in the country to be built right on the railway, the St Pancras Renaissance is one of a kind; if you do not decide to stay here, try dropping in for a coffee or lunch at The Booking Office or Gilbert Scott.

Don't let the appearance of this classical 19th century building fool you - although the inside is as elegant as its exterior facade, you're likely to find a few nice surprises in store. This may be due to the fact that this is no ordinary hotel! Instead, it is a 'large luxurious house', as the management likes to call it, located at the very heart of the elegant Kensington district and just a stone's throw from the park of the same name. You will definitely need to have a blank cheque book if you want to stay, or even just dine, at this 5 star establishment...

This former town hall in East London represents one of the most remarkable transformations of any building in the capital. While most of the edifice's original architectural features have been guarded, this has not been seen as an obstacle to introducing a highly contemporary design into the hugely spacious rooms, world-class restaurant and divine pool and gym. Add to this a unique art project, great service and a vibrant history and you get one of the most unconventional hotels in London. Recommended for all types of traveller, especially those who are tired of staying in the town centre and are looking for an alternative location.
