With its comfortable rooms, a traditional restaurant of good quality and an access to the facilities of the Petinos Beach, this small hotel of intermediate category is a fine place to stay for family clientele.
The Petinos is some feet away from the beach of Platys Gialos, one of the most beautiful fine sandy beaches on the island and therefore one of the mostrenwn (the ambience of the French Riviera in the summer, with sunshades, bars and restaurants that have mushroomed along the beach). Mykonos, at a distance of 2.5 miles, is accessible via a regular bus service (the bus stop is in front of the hotel). The airport is also 2.5 miles away.
With a modest surface (less than 160 square feet), each of the 30 rooms are decorated in ungraceful shades of pink and green and are equipped with a refrigerator, TV, air conditioning, direct telephone and a bathroom with shower (in the majority) and a hair dryer. Note the room service is provided from 8.00am until midnight.
The first one of the Petinos hotels was launched in 1989 and renovated in 1999. The building in the traditional tones of white and blue houses 30 rooms. The corridors and the lobby are to some extent impersonal and the common reception area is inside the luxurious Petinos Beach hotel (across the street). You have access to the beautiful pool overlooking the sea and to the gym of the very Petinos Beach and the shop and sauna of the Nissaki (located 6565 feet away). Lovely garden with palm trees, orange trees and eucalyptus. The restaurant overlooks the beach and has a pleasant terrace.
You would prefer the terrace of the Taverna, the restaurant of the Petinos, as the interior dining space is less pleasant. Seated under a pergola and facing the bay of Platys Gialos, you can enjoy an extremely fresh local cuisine (fish, salads, grilled cheese, etc.) or rather international dishes, including many grilled meats. Some fifty tables are served from 11.30am to 11.30pm. Certainly one of the best restaurants in the area.
To the south of the island, Platys Gialos beach is one of the most crowded spots during high season. Otherwise, the place is known for its peaceful atmosphere, protected from the bustle of Mykonos's city centre. For comfort: deckchairs and sunshades. Only one problem: the accumulation of algae which litter the waterfront.
The Petinos is part of a small group of hotels (including the Petinos Beach, Neos Petinos, Nissaki, etc.) belonging to the same owner and located mostly in the southern part of the island. The main attraction of the hotels of this group is the possibility for clients of the Petinos to use equipment from other hotels of a superior class (swimming pool, gym, etc.). It is a family hotel (a lot of local people), highly valued for its relaxed atmosphere and the restaurant near the beach.
massage, sauna, keep fit, spa, Turkish bath
gym, water-polo, fitness, sports
The Kamari is a small hotel located near Platys Gialos beach. It is a comfortable hotel after several criteria: a beautiful garden, spacious rooms, especially friendly atmosphere and quiet. There are few hotels in Mykonos equipped with facilities for children, as is the case of Kamari. Here, the clientele is family, with services for the smallest. An oasis of peace and coolness in an environment still a little dry.
Close to the sea and a little apart from other hotels, the Lady Anna is undoubtedly a charming place in Platys Gialos, on the south coast of the island. For a seaside stay in family style, in a refined setting.
This beautiful modern hotel, composed of more than 80 rooms, is located at the end of the beach of Platys Gialos, in the south of Mykonos. It offers a superb view onto the Aegean Sea. Its luxury facilities and refined rooms are the main assets of the Petasos hotels' masterpiece.
A small hotel, friendly and quiet, located behind the Petasos Beach (owned by the same owner and whose equipment are shared), a few miles from the beach of Platys Gialos.
A member of the select Relais & Châteaux club, the Myconian Ambassador comes with outstanding credentials, the reasons for which rapidly become apparent as you discover the hotel's facilities. The service is of high quality and the setting is magnificent... Its elevated location affords an unobstructed view of the Aegean sea, but unfortunately this means it's not next to the beach. Don't worry though, the one at Platis Gialos is just a few steps away... The establishment is ideal for couples, but families are offered the warmest of welcomes as well.
Located just a few steps from the beach of Platys Gialos, the Petinos Beach enjoys a nice setting. It is one of the most beautiful sandy beaches on the island and therefore one of the most popular (a French Riviera ambience in the summer with sunshades, and the bars or restaurants that have grown along the beach). The hotel offers comfortable and very spacious rooms. It is located a little off-centre of Mykonos, however being only 2.5 miles away. There are no facilities for children, but you could easily imagine family clientele coming here.
A Member of the hotel chain Starwood, the Santa Marina Resort and Villas has existed since 1986. Since its renovation in 2005, the hotel has enjoyed a facelift. The modern decoration in the common areas is evidence of this. In addition, there are few hotels in Mykonos with a space devoted to children, and the Santa Marina is one of them. Families are welcome! It is open during the summer season, namely from April to October.
Don't be fooled by the name: there is nothing palatial about the Mykonos Palace. That isn't to say that this is not a high quality establishment. The name just seems to be a bit of an overstatement... This small hotel enjoys a prime seaside location on the beach of Platys Galios. Hard to get any closer... The facilities are a little limited but the establishment has everything you need for a relaxing holiday without being totally lost in the wilderness.

Although a little bit secluded inland, this hotel is frequented by both Greek and foreign tourists and provides a level of equipment and ambiance up to its official category.
This luxurious hotel located north of the town of Mykonos has easily won the prize for architecture and the most refined atmosphere on the island. Offering perfect setting and comfort for a romantic holiday in the Cyclades.
The Porto Mykonos is a hotel with 60 rooms, located opposite the port of the main town on the island. Attractive for the elegance of its facilities and the beauty of its view, the hotel is best suited to a young and festive clientele than to families seeking seaside resorts.
This boutique hotel in Agios Stefanos is a complete joy. Couples looking for a romantic getaway will not be disappointed! The Grace Mykonos and its tranquil ambience provide a perfect setting that is further enhanced by the utter charm of the typical Cycladic architecture and the friendly and welcoming staff. The hotel opened in 2007, and its modern decor is perfectly in kilter with its facilities. What the amenities lack in quantity they make up for in quality.
Although a little bit isolated inland, the Andronikos hotel is frequented by both Greek and foreign tourists. It is open during the summer period, from April to October. It offers versatile amenities and a setting perfectly matching its official category. It attracts a lot more couples than families.
