The Alpha hotel belongs to the Austria hotel chain, which owns 7 hotels in Vienna and 2 more in Prague. Although it is simple, this is an interesting place to stay because it showcases local art, and is a good place for families and groups of friends to stay.
The Alpha is located in Josefstadt, in the eighth district of Vienna. It is a fantastic part of town, a stone's throw from the Parliament and the famous Ringstrasse avenue. It will take around 30 minutes to get to the international airport.
The hotel has 58 single and double guest rooms spread over 5 floors. The 40 double rooms were renovated in 2000, and are now fitted with red carpets. The dark wood of the modern furniture is played off against the white bed sheets. The rooms measure about 20m² and are provided with satellite television, a mini-bar (charged), a safe and internet access (charged). The bathrooms are small, but they come complete with everything you will need, including a shower, hair-dryer and hospitality products.
The hotel was built in 2007, and offers simple, good quality accommodation. You enter into a hall with marble floors and decor featuring yellow and orange shades. A little further on is the lounge, with its red carpet and pleasant designer armchairs. In front of the lounge, there is a dining room, although the only meal served there is breakfast. It is not long before you'll notice that the walls are covered with pretty paintings. They are the work of Rudalt Brudl, who has exhibited more than 68 paintings in the hotel for about 2 years. The style and hallmarks of this Austrian painter seem to be on show in every last corner of the building.
The hotel restaurant is to the left of the lounge. There is a buffet counter in the centre of the room, and the dark wood furniture matches that found in the guest rooms. Up to 50 guests can eat here at any one time, although breakfast is the only meal on offer. It is served from 6:30am to 10:30am, and includes eggs, Austrian sausages, bacon, cheese and yoghurts. Although breakfast is the only meal you can take at the hotel, you can also help yourself to the fruit provided free of charge in the hall.
The hotel also offers takeaway breakfasts for any guests looking to make an early start.

The recently renovated Eurostars Vienna has 115 guest rooms and is located 10 minutes from the centre of Vienna. The inside of the hotel is more attractive than its exterior, and it is one of Vienna's few hotels with an indoor swimming pool, an advantage that makes it well worth considering for your stay. It attracts lots of Spanish visitors who are visiting the town for leisure or work purposes.
