Restaurante Fado ao Carmo: the best fado restaurant

It's impossible to go to Lisbon without at least once listening to fado, the typical music of Portugal, but there are many tourist traps in this area. At Restaurante Fado ao Carmo, you won't just be enjoying a dinner and a show, but a real experience!

For €49 for a starter-main course-dessert menu based exclusively on Portuguese products, you can also enjoy an exceptional concert where singers and musicians seem to be in perfect symbiosis. A word of advice: book several days in advance, as the restaurant is a great success.

100 Maneiras: a Michelin-starred restaurant worth the diversions

If you want to treat yourself to a little extravagance while in Lisbon, we can only recommend the 100 Maneiras restaurant. With its inventive gourmet cuisine inspired by Portuguese traditions and its impeccable service, the restaurant has been awarded a Michelin star. It's a class act!

Two tasting menus are available, comprising 11 or 14 courses (no less!) at €140 and €170. Not cheap, of course, but believe us, it's worth every penny!

Restaurante O Tasco Do Vigário: the best value for money

Right in the heart of the old Alfama district, the façade of Restaurante O Tasco Do Vigário doesn't particularly make you want to go inside. But it would be a mistake to turn back: you're about to enter one of the cheapest restaurants in Lisbon, without sacrificing quality.

Tourists and locals alike come here to treat themselves to a hearty meal for less: meat or fish dishes cost less than €10 and a litre of wine is less than €5!

Casa dos Pecados: a great fish restaurant

It's a well-known fact that the smaller the menu, the better the quality of the food. At Casa dos Pecados, between Chiado and Bairro Alto, you can choose from a number of typically Portuguese fish specialities, accompanied by a good local wine or beer.

The atmosphere in the small dining room is warm and friendly. Dishes cost around €15, so you can treat yourself without counting the cost. This is a very good address, and you are advised to book ahead.
