Become Harry Potter in an outdoor escape game

The escape game is an increasingly popular activity in France and around the world. Although most escape games take place indoors, some also take place outdoors in an existing environment such as a city. Basically, the aim of an escape game is to get out of the room in which you are locked in less than an hour. Outdoors, the game is different in that it requires players to be on the move a lot more, as they have to scour the town for clues to solve a final enigma and win the game. Unlike indoor escapades, where smartphones are not allowed, you'll need one for outdoor games, as it will be your master of the game throughout. If you're looking for a fun activity to do in a group to discover the city from a different angle than a simple tourist visit, this escape game is the perfect activity for your holidays in summer or winter, as the game can be played in any season and in total autonomy.

Why play an outdoor escape game?

An outdoor escape game is a unique and fun experience for a group of friends or family. For those who are used to this type of activity, being outdoors provides a complete change of scenery compared with traditional escape games, which take place indoors in a clause room. Players can find themselves in a park, a pretty square or a forest, making the experience highly immersive and offering a real adventure.

Secondly, an outdoor escape game is a great way to get in some exercise, as you'll often have to cover hundreds of metres to find the various clues. Sometimes you'll even have to run to try and win before the other group.

It's also an excellent opportunity to share a moment with family or friends with a fun activity that's a welcome change from visiting historical monuments across Méribel.

Who is this activity aimed at?

This activity is really accessible to everyone, and is played in teams of 1 to 6 people. The game is recommended for children aged 10 and over, so that they are able to solve the riddles, but younger children can of course also play, accompanied by an older child or an adult to guide them to the clues. In any case, this is an activity that is paid for by a team and not by the number of players.

An outdoor escape game is also an ideal activity for a company seminar, as it strengthens team cohesion and communication. The number of teams is unlimited, so all you need to do is start the game at the same time so that you can play against each other over the same period and cross paths with your opponents in the city. The game can take on another dimension with a possible strategy of spying on the opposing team.

You don't necessarily need to have read the books or seen the films to play this Harry Potter game, but knowledge of the universe is a plus. And if you're a fan of this world-famous saga, you'll have all the more fun during this activity in total immersion with the characters you already know.

What does the activity involve?

This activity is halfway between an escape game and a treasure hunt. You'll have to find your way to platform 9 ¾ of King's Cross station, which is in Meribel. To help you find it, you'll have to go to each of the four Hogwarts houses and look for the four codes that will help you find the location of the platform.

How does the activity work?

Once you have booked and paid for your activity, you will receive a unique game code and instructions by email. After reading the initial instructions, you will have two hours to solve the riddle and find the word that will give you the location of the quay. If you go over the 2-hour time limit, you can still continue to play and finish the investigation.

What equipment do I need?

To play, you'll need a recent smartphone (IOS 13.0 or Android 7.0 minimum) with 4G, a charged battery, or even a back-up battery, a pen and paper, and good shoes. Having a scooter allows you to go faster if you want to avoid running or walking fast.
