Discovering Corsica's most beautiful beaches

In the south of Corsica, in the Gulf of Porto-Vecchio, lies the Bay of Santa Giulia, a corner of paradise boasting some of the most beautiful beaches in Southern Corsica. To the south of the bay, Santa Giulia beach, a UNESCO World Heritage site, welcomes visitors with its white sand, turquoise waters and umbrella pines separating the beach from the lagoon. With its shallow waters, Santa Giulia is ideal for an afternoon out with the family.

Repeatedly voted the most beautiful beach in France and Europe for its shell-like shape, the bay of Rondinara is a paradise of several kilometres of white sand, all bordered by warm translucent water. At the tip of Rondinara are a number of small, secluded coves, hidden from view.

Just fifteen kilometres from Île Rousse, to the north of Calvi, lies Ostriconi beach, a heavenly white sandy beach lost in the Haute-Corse countryside, at the gateway to the Agriates desert.

Those dreaming of a quiet moment surrounded by dunes and vegetation will be seduced by the picturesque setting of Ostriconi beach, lost between the Corsican mountains and the sea.

The beach at Nonza is unique in that it is made up of black pebbles, the remains of an old abandoned asbestos mine. Situated below the medieval village of Nonza, on the west coast of Cap Corse, this beach is just as enjoyable from the top of the cliffs, as the contrast between the turquoise water and the black pebbles is breathtaking.

Ficajola beach is the only beach in the Calanques de Piana that can be reached on foot in just ten minutes from the car park. Very popular with visitors in summer, Ficajola is a dream spot in the off-season. The ideal place to put your towel down for a few moments during a cruise to discover the calanques of Piana.

Close to Bonifacio's famous Petit Sperone beach lies Pintarella, an ideal beach for water sports enthusiasts. Here, kitesurfing, paddleboarding and kayaking are the most popular activities.

When the temperatures get too high, visitors like to head to one of the nearby bars or restaurants to enjoy a spot of shade and refreshment. The best in the area, A Suliata, offers typical Italian and Mediterranean dishes, all with a breathtaking view of the sea and the Bay of Bonifacio.

Sandwiched between the limestone of the Bonifacio cliffs and the granite of Corsica's west coast, this small beach of white sand bordered by shallow turquoise water is ideal for an afternoon out with the family. When you're there, it's important to bring something to eat and drink: the beach is isolated, with no bars, restaurants or shops in the vicinity!

Palombaggia, in Porto-Vecchio, often tops the list of the most beautiful beaches in Corsica, with its shallow turquoise waters, rocks and pine trees lining the white sand. As well as its dream setting, the beach is at the heart of one of the hippest spots in southern Corsica, with many trendy bars and restaurants close by.
