A glimpse at the hill’s view

From atop the Saint Patrick’s Hill, although physically demanding due to its steepness, the displayed view is worth the effort. It’s the perfect place to contemplate on your day, get some fresh air, and unwind whilst looking out onto the colourful city of Cork.

Indeed, this hill has been used for many cinematic occasions, such as in the series The Young Offenders (2018) - and you’ll quickly understand why! The walk up the hill isn’t all that boring either, as it is a prime residential area for old traditional houses who have been renovated over the years to obtain the adequate elegance of the view of Cork offered by Saint Patrick’s Hill. As you can imagine, prices are skyrocketing to own such a gifted house!

The most ideal time to go is sunset. Prop yourself onto a bench or picnic blanket and let the beauty sink in! Getting cold? Warm up in a local pub as you descend the hill to meet the flashing city lights.

Things to see on the hill

There have been many organised events on the hill over the years, such as the colourful ball run or yet again the Red Bull Soapbox Race! Fun and quirky events geared towards charitable causes all the while embracing the city’s most renowned steep hill - and inviting visitors to partake in its cultural significance!
