We finally know which is the best bistro in Paris! What does it have that the others don't?

Bistros are an integral part of the Parisian landscape. There are so many in the capital that it's hard to choose the best one. But Gilles Pudlowski was not to be counted out when he awarded the Trophy for Bistro of the Year 2023. Without further ado, we reveal who the winner is.

"And the winner is...

Without prolonging the suspense any further, the Bistro of the Year 2023 trophy has been awarded to Le Moulin à Vent, a now unmissable address in the heart of Paris's 5th arrondissement, a stone's throw from Jussieu University and the old wine market.

An authentic bistro

Au Moulin à Vent is a great value, thanks to its timeless decor with red banquettes and long, perfectly laid tables, but also, and above all, thanks to its traditional, no-fuss, gourmet menu, such as the delicious, hearty gratin dauphinois. You only have to eat there once for it to become our HQ!

The 4 commandments of the bistro

Not just anyone can become the best bistro in the capital! The title has to be earned! And according to Pudlo, there are a number of criteria to check off if you want to take first place: the food, of course, which has to be tasty and traditional, but also the setting, which has to be warm and friendly, with a lively, good-natured atmosphere.

And let's not forget value for money, which is one of the most important criteria for turning ordinary customers into regulars.
