The Maison Gainsbourg opens its doors

The start of the new academic year in 2023 marks the public opening of Serge Gainsbourg's home. The 95th anniversary of the artist's birth will be celebrated at 5 bis rue de Verneuil. Where the singer lived from 1969 until his death, this address will now house a museum as well as a bookshop-boutique and a café-restaurant.

The Maison Gainsbourg will be in 2 locations: at number 5 bis, the singer's former home will open its doors to visitors, while at number 14, there will be an exhibition on the artist's life. Various books will be on display, and this is also where you'll find the Gainsbarre, where you can eat from morning till night, while enjoying a piano bar. La Maison Gainsbourg has a jazz ambience and a relaxed atmosphere worthy of the artist's style!

A tribute to Agnès Varda, queen of the 7th art

A precursor of the Nouvelle Vague, Agnès Varda is a major figure in the world of cinema. Over the course of 70 years, she developed a unique body of cinematographic work, marked by an intimate and original approach combining photography and the visual arts.

This autumn, the Cinémathèque française has decided to pay tribute to her and her works, including the not-to-be-missed Cléo de 5 à 7 and Les Demoiselles de Rochefort, which were as poetic as they were committed. Through photographs, costumes, archives and sets, the exhibition unveils a rich cinematic legacy that explores the themes of feminism, ecology and marginality.

Gustave Eiffel, the anniversary exhibition

2023 marks the centenary of Gustave Eiffel's death. To mark the occasion, a retrospective event is being organised in tribute to the engineer who designed the capital's iconic tower. In this dedicated space at the Cité de l'architecture, visitors will have the opportunity to explore Gustave Eiffel's various architectural and industrial projects, both famous and lesser-known.

The exhibition immerses visitors in his biography through a collection of photographs, prints, objects and models. You can walk through the building sites as if transported back in time, experience the collaborations that marked his career, and follow the stages of his achievements in Gustave Eiffel's workshops. It's a great way to understand the creation of the Iron Lady, and many other projects too!
