A visit to Paris would be the perfect opportunity to sample Yann Couvreur's famous vanilla flan, Cyril Lignac's Equinoxe or Philippe Conticini's Paris-Brest. And if you think that's too expensive... Cyril Lignac's patisserie

Let's start with Cyril Lignac. France's most popular chef, known for his Michelin-starred restaurants and numerous appearances on cooking shows, has opened several sweet shops in Paris: La Pâtisserie and La Chocolaterie.

In the former, you'll find some exceptional cakes, including theEquinoxe, Cyril Lignac'ssignature pastry, made with vanilla cream, a runny caramel centre and a speculoos praline crunch. An explosion of flavour for just €7. For the same price, you can also try a revisited lemon tart, a sweet that's as delicious as it is Instagrammable. For those on a tighter budget, opt for the vanilla flan (€4) or the chocolate flan (€4.50). In the second restaurant, the chef offers gummy bears in a range of flavours, as well as a lounge where you can enjoy homemade hot chocolate!

Yann Couvreur, the coolest chef in Paris

Yann Couvreur, one of the coolest pastry chefs in Paris, has opened several boutiques and offers pastries that leave an unforgettable impression for less than €7. From his inimitable flan at €4.50, through the coconut lime tart at €5.90 to the unbeatable "merveille" (chocolate mousse, meringue heart, hazelnut praline and fleur de sel) at €6.90, the explosion of flavour is well worth the diversions. The patissier also offers viennoiseries, pains au chocolat (€1.90), pains aux raisins (€3.50) and chouquettes with vanilla cream (€8)!

Philippe Conticini and his generous pastries

A true figure of pastry-making for his peers, and a role model for all lovers of this culinary art, Philippe Conticini has revolutionised the field by imposing his own touch. The 59-year-old pastry chef began by imagining sweet desserts using techniques from the kitchen. He invented the concept of sweet verrines, for example. In Paris, the chef has opened several boutiques where you can sample his signature desserts for less than €10. These include his Paris-Brest amande noisette (€7.90), his tarte citron sarrasin (€7.90) and his gourmet flan (€6.90). The little extra: Philippe Conticini also gives classes in his spare time!
