The Promenade des Planches, Deauville's romantic spot

From the quays of Port Deauville harbour, head south-west along the beach. And enjoy this sea-scented stroll! The Promenade des Planches runs alongside several of the seaside resort's must-see sites. You'll pass the International Convention Centre (site of the American Film Festival) and the public baths known as the Pompeian Baths.

Note, however, that these addresses are aimed at customers who are prepared to empty their wallets! The Établissement des Bains de Mer de Deauville offers a range of services set around a magnificent flower-filled patio. Here you can hire the famous parasols, a deckchair or even a cabin. You can hire for a day, a week or longer. There are some 450 cabins in Deauville. They are spread across nine Art Deco courtyards. What's more, you'll appreciate the modern architecture of the establishment, built in 1923. It was the architect Charles Adda who invented the purity of its lines and its mosaic decorations.
