Deauville, a lively resort with a busy agenda

There's something going on in Deauville all year round! One event follows another, making Deauville one of the liveliest towns in Normandy. Among the annual offer, we suggest:

👉 To celebrate the New Year, the 1 January swim takes place on Deauville beach. A word to the wise! The temperature in the Channel rarely exceeds 8°C at this time of year!

👉 Deauville celebrates horses all year round, with dressage competitions and show jumping. Head for the Pôle International du Cheval, where most of the competitions take place.

👉 Books & Music Festival in April-May. This event celebrates the influence of music on literature. Exhibitions, meetings and concerts are on the programme. The Livres & Musiques festival and its exhibitions are fully accessible to people with reduced mobility.

👉 International Polo Championship, another horse-related event. Held every August on the Touques racecourse. In addition, horse races are held at the town's two racecourses throughout the summer.

👉 The American Film Festival: a must in the Deauville calendar. The town is even more jet-set! The stars roam the stages and the entertainment is in full swing. Early September every year.

In addition to these events, Deauville has a varied cultural calendar for a town of its size. Artists, singers, actors and comedians come to perform in the town throughout the year.

Focus on... the Deauville International Triathlon

France's biggest triathlon attracts several thousand people every year. Nearly 5,000 athletes compete in the sumptuous setting of the seaside resort. Every year in June, the Deauville International Triathlon takes place between the town centre and its famous beach. The triathlon offers four event formats to suit all levels. Each format includes the three disciplines over adapted distances: swimming, cycling and running. Registering is simple: just follow the information on the official event website.

Deauville is lively all year round. Attendance is at its peak at weekends.

🚌 How do you get to Deauville to celebrate an event?

The town of Deauville is very well served by train (Trouville-Deauville station typical with its half-timbering). From Paris, head for Saint-Lazare station, and allow 2 hours 30 minutes for the journey. By air, the commune is linked to a number of destinations via Deauville-Normandie airport, private aviation and the flying club. By road, Paris is 200 kilometres away, with a journey time of just under 2? hours. The town of Deauville is served by the Normandy regional transport network, Nomad. Thanks to this bus network, you can travel to Caen, Lisieux or Honfleur without taking your car. Once you're in the heart of the resort, you can get around by car, bus or taxi.

📍 Where can I park near Deauville's lively attractions?

Please note that parking in the heart of the resort is subject to a charge. There are a few underground car parks. For trouble-free parking, come early when an event is taking place in town!
