Trouville, Deauville's sister

Trouville-sur-Mer both complements and differs from Deauville. Trouville is also a Belle Époque seaside resort, but the town offers a more contrasting atmosphere. Here, the village is set between the relief of the Corniche Normande, the mouth of the Touques and its vast beach. Trouville-sur-Mer was the birthplace of the Côte Fleurie, and from the beginning of the Second Empire the small fishing port developed and attracted its first visitors. Unlike Deauville, which was created from scratch, Trouville-sur-Mer was already very much alive when tourism began to develop. Today, Trouville-Sur-Mer offers a less flashy atmosphere than its neighbour, with a pleasant family feel.

The centre of Trouville-sur-Mer, the villas and the Montebello museum

Before you set off to discover this pearl of Normandy, head for La Cabane Perchée. This is the place for you, lovers of exceptional brunches! You'll have to be there on Sunday morning and pay €35, but it's well worth it. Comfortably seated facing the sea, on the edge of the beach, a festival of different dishes awaits you. The address also serves as a bar and restaurant at any time of day. Please note that in low season the restaurant is closed from Monday to Wednesday.

Trouville-sur-Mer offers visitors a wide range of sites to discover, and the town's listed villas are a must-see. To discover and admire them, all you have to do is follow the promenade des planches de Trouville. Here it's called the Promenade Savignac. From this promenade, in the open air, you can admire the villas Sidonia, **Esmeralda** and the famous Roches Noires, the former luxury hotel that was home to Marguerite Duras. A little further inland lies the village centre. Lose yourself in the narrow streets and climb the many staircases. Notice the architecture of the old fishermen's cottages.

The museum is open from Wednesday to Sunday in summer, and only on Saturdays and Sundays in winter.
