The Frieder Burda Museum was founded in 2004 by Frieder Burda, a contemporary art enthusiast and son of Franz Burda, the founder of the eponymous press company. To date, the Frieder Burda collection comprises more than 1,000 works of contemporary art, bringing together the worlds of many world-famous artists. This impressive collection, considered to be one of the most important in Europe, includes works by such famous figures as Gerhard Richter, Georg Baselitz, Markus Lüpertz, Sigmar Polke and many others.
