Luxury, golf and marina, welcome to select Cap Cana!

It all began in 2005 with the inauguration of the Punta Espada Golf Course by golfing legend Jack Nicklaus. In 2007, the luxurious marina was inaugurated. In 2010, around the marina with its impressive yachts, came the official opening of the Fishing Lodge, which has now become the Ancora Punta Cana, the even more luxurious part of which is called TRS Cap Cana. The Cap Cana region includes the Eden Roc, Golden Bear Lodge, Marina Sands Luxury Resort and Sanctuary Cap Cana hotels.

Away from the hustle and bustle of Bavaro, Cap Cana is a luxurious estate in the south of the Punta Cana area, close to the airport. It's a real city, with streets, squares, houses, bars, restaurants, swimming pools and huge villas, many of them private flats. And let's not forget its golf courses, notably Punta Espada, designed by Jack Nicklaus, and above all its famous marina where you can admire some superb yachts.

You can stroll through its squares, such as the Plaza Candelaria, its gardens with their fountain, and its lawns. You can move seamlessly from the discotheque to the Dominican-style chapel, a veritable church with stained glass windows and two bells, where masses and weddings are celebrated. Our favourite? An unforgettable swim in the turquoise waters of the Hoyo Azul natural pool in the Cap Cana ecological reserve!

Located in Cap Cana, playa de Juanillo, protected by the coral reef, is one of the most beautiful in the country. A truly exceptional beach: turquoise blue lagoon, transparent water, white sand, coconut palms... it's hard not to be seduced by this little cove surrounded by rocks! The absence of nautical activity guarantees an Olympian calm.

Facilities include wooden deckchairs with neatly arranged mattresses, palapas with double mattresses, showers and a beach volleyball court. You can order your drinks directly from the square, or head to the small bar-restaurant nestling under an airy palapa, and sit out on the terrace to enjoy the beautiful views of the beach and sea.

Add a kiosk where weddings are celebrated and a palapa for massages, and you have a good idea of this beach paradise.

👉 An artificial domain

You won't have any contact with Dominican life at Cap Cana, which is a rather artificial place that could very well be anywhere else in the Caribbean. If you're not a fan of golf, marina and gourmet restaurants, pass on by.

❌ A beach to avoid

Fundadores beach, located 300 metres from the Cap Cana marina, near the TRS Cap Cana and Ancora Punta Cana hotels, isn't exactly heavenly, which is why we haven't detailed it here. A boat takes you there free of charge from the marina every 15 minutes from 9am to 6pm, and the crossing takes 10 minutes.

There is little shade under the few small coconut trees, which are in a duel. The sand is not fine, soft or white, but rather coarse shells and gravel. There are waves and currents, and it's not a crystal-clear lagoon... In short, as Caleton beach is reserved for Eden Roc guests, we warmly recommend that you head to the heavenly Juanillo beach!

🍴 Where to eat?

Cap Cana boasts a number of quality restaurants, particularly within the luxury resorts. These include Méditerranéo, the gourmet restaurant at the luxury Eden Roc hotel. At the Ancora Cap Cana, Il Cielo offers excellent Italian cuisine in a chill-out lounge atmosphere with live music. It boasts the best view of the Cap Cana marina. At the Sanctuary Cap Cana, the Blue Marlin is THE fish and seafood restaurant par excellence, set on stilts overlooking the sea, in the open air: the best!
