Take time to admire the magnificent, well-preserved half-timbered houses. In spring, Eguisheim reveals even more of its charms and is decked out in magnificent colours, with flowers filling the balconies and squares.

It is probably one of the best-known villages on the Alsace Wine Route. Ribeauvillé may be more touristy than the other villages, but it has managed to retain its authenticity and a real sense of local life.

- © Luccio fr / ShutterstockRibeauvillé is a medieval village full of charm and home to a number of remarkable buildings, including the 18th-century town hall, the ramparts and the town's old defensive tower, the former 15th-century corn market with its beautiful Gothic porches, the church of Saint-Grégoire and the Augustins convent church.
Ribeauvillé is also famous for its three fortified castles (Saint-Ulrich, Girsberg and Haut-Ribeaupierre). If you have the time, don't hesitate to leave the walls of this ancient fortified town and take the Three Castles of Ribeauvillé walk. It's a superb way to admire not only the châteaux, but also a magnificent panorama of the village and vineyards.
