At the start of the trail towards Batz-sur-Mer, you'll pass by the Chapelle and Korrigans caves. The latter is named after the famous elves from the legends of Brittany. The grotte des Korrigans is a listed site, accessible from both the coast and the ocean.
In all, there are more than twenty caves along this Côte Sauvage itinerary.
Follow the coastal path for an active discovery of the Côte Sauvage
First of all, the route follows the Atlantic coastline for around ten kilometres between Le Pouliguen and Le Croisic. You'll be following the famous GR34 hiking trail. This famous walking route circumnavigates Brittany. It starts at Mont-Saint-Michel and finishes at Saint-Nazaire (La Baule is one of the last stops).
Part of the Vélocéan cycle route also runs along the Côte Sauvage. Note that, depending on the section, this route alternates between dedicated lanes and lanes shared with other vehicles. If you're travelling with the family, be sure to keep an eye on the young ones.
Before setting off on your walk, make sure you know how high the tides are. Depending on the tidal range, some sections of the path may be impassable.
