This beach of fine sand stretches for almost 9 kilometres between Le Pouliguen to the east and Pornichet to the east.

A summer's day at the beach in La Baule-Escoublac

The beach stretches out in a perfect bay. What could be better than to discover it on a summer's morning by taking a stroll with your family, your loved ones or your friends?

If you're feeling more sporty, you can also go jogging along the beach.

The seaside setting and theendless horizon of the Atlantic are the harbingers of a great day at the beach!

As an added bonus, the beach at La Baule is supervised in summer from July to August, with several lifeguard posts on duty during the season.

Also in summer, hundreds of blue and white striped tents (750 to be exact) are set up on the beach. They are set up on the sand every morning.

This emblem of the city can be hired by the day. You can choose between renting a tent, a cabin or a deckchair.

These beach facilities can be hired for a day, a week or a month. The rental period runs from May to the end of September.

Swimming and bathing in the turquoise waters are recommended between areas supervised by lifeguards.

Don't forget that the Atlantic Ocean remains cool even in the height of summer. The sea temperature rarely exceeds 20 degrees, so be sure to check before jumping in!

Finally, the beach is adapted for people with reduced mobility. The access off Avenue de Saumur has been awarded the handiplage label.

Where to stay near La Baule beach?

When should you visit La Baule beach?

La Baule is a luxury destination that attracts visitors all year round. Depending on the season, the atmosphere is very different.

The liveliest period is summer, with its sunny days. The holidays are the time when families arrive, and things are at their liveliest.

Autumn and winter are quieter, but thalassotherapy cures are also available at these times. What's more, people from the big cities come to breathe the sea air even in the middle of winter.

Spring heralds the return of fine weather, with flowers colouring the streets, parks and gardens of the town. In fact, La Baule-Escoublac is classified as a 4-flower town under the national Villes et Villages Fleuris (Towns and Villages in Bloom label.

🚌 How do I get to the beach in La Baule?

The town of La Baule is served by train (La Baule-Escoublac station and La Baule Les Pins station), by plane (Nantes airport and La Baule-Escoublac airfield) and by road.

Once you've reached the town of La Baule-Escoublac, it's very easy to get to the beach. Almost any road will take you there!

Where can I park near La Baule beach?

The number of inhabitants increases 10-fold in the summer (from 16,000 to over 150,000), so it's difficult to find parking in the town in summer.

Please note that you have to pay to park in the town. There are a few underground car parks. If you want to park easily, come early!
