Quintin, a town steeped in history

Quintin was an important trading centre between the 19th and 19th centuries.

The town was famous for its linen trade. A linen factory was set up in the village, contributing to the development of the linen cloth trade.

Testimony to this past can be seen in the many monuments that can still be seen throughout the village.

You can admire the castle, the basilica and the many private mansions in the little town. The remarkable timber-framed houses are right in the centre of the village of Quintin.

These are all reminders, in part, of the sumptuous times when Quintin ruled the region's trade!

There are also a number of places where you can take a break during your visit.

Take a break at Ty-Ann Chez Roger crêperie. This small establishment in the heart of Quintin is sure to delight!

Try the delicious galettes and crêpes made with local ingredients, a great family address.

You'll also find restaurants and bakeries in Quintin town centre, so there's something for everyone in your family!

Discover Quintin Castle

In fact, Château de Quintin is home to two châteaux!

One was built in the 17th century and the other a century later.

This makes it a unique site in France!

Another surprising fact is that the same family has occupied and managed this château for 8 centuries!

During your visit, take a look at the collections of everyday objects that show the evolution of an era that is now partly over.

Take a trip back in time to the 18th century.

As a bonus, giant investigations are organised in Quintin Castle. Come and take part in a life-size police investigation!

You'll need to book in advance, and your team will need to include between 2 and 6 participants.

Finally, note that the castle is open from May to September. The monument is open in the afternoon. For the rest of the year, you'll need to book in advance.

When should you visit Quintin?

The medieval village of Quintin can be explored all year round!

Each season brings a totally different atmosphere to the little town. If you come in winter, for example, the village is quieter and there are fewer tourists, so you'll have the village to yourself!

In summer, on the other hand, there are more visitors and the fine weather is accompanied by plenty of entertainment.

How do I get to the medieval village of Quintin?

The nearest SNCF station to Quintin is Saint-Brieuc. There are several TGV trains from Paris every day of the year.

The best way to get to Quintin is by car.

It's easy to get to Quintin by car from Saint-Brieuc. From the centre of Saint-Brieuc, take the D 700 south of Saint-Brieuc. Exit onto the D790 towards Rostrenen and Quintin.

Alternatively, there is a bus service between Quintin and Saint-Brieuc. This is route 5 Saint-Brieuc - La Harmoye, run by the Tub network.

Where can I park near the medieval village of Quintin?

There are several car parks and parking spaces in the centre of Quintin.

In summer, there is a charge for parking, so don't forget to arrive early!
