Erquy, a small, family-friendly seaside resort on the Breton coast, hides many wonders along its coastline.

Erquy in short

Nature reigns supreme at Erquy

The scenery in Erquy is breathtaking! You'll fall under the spell of the wild beaches (Lourtuais, Portuais), or gaze out over Cap D'Erquy.

The spectacle of nature is yours to enjoy in Erquy.

The easiest way to enjoy it is to go hiking. Just follow the famous Douaniers trail, the GR®34.

The Cap d'Erquy remains the most remarkable natural site in the commune.

Its fragile environment and the richness of its birdlife have even earned it classification and protection as part of the Grand Site Cap D'Erquy - Cap Fréhel.

For bird lovers and photographers alike, the site's cliffs provide shelter for a wide variety of species.

Cormorants, grebes, warblers and black scoters are just some of the many birds that can be seen here.

  • The sandy beach of Caroual: a wonderful cove. With its long ribbon of fine sand, it's ideal for families to enjoy (lifeguard surveillance in summer).
  • La plage du Centre: as its name suggests, this beach is at the heart of the resort of Erquy, just before the fishing port.
  • The remarkable wild beaches of Lourtuais, Portuais, Guen and Lanruen.
  • The fine sandy beaches of Saint-Michel and Les Montiers, near the islet of Saint-Michel to the north-east of Erquy.

To improve your skills or simply learn the basics of kitesurfing, head for Kite Center 22 (qualified instructors).

Alternatively, for a choice of activities and relevant information, head to La Maison de la Mer.

This remarkable municipal structure is home to a range of service providers and services all linked to the sea and nautical activities(diving, sailing, sea outings).
