A new concept never before seen in France, the 1K hotel designed to reflect the Inca culture of Peru opened its doors in September 2014. The Inca people will be honoured in this new hotel in the French capital. Reptile phobes may want to stay away, as three lizards are waiting to meet you in the lobby.

The 1K hotel is located at 13 Boulevard du Temple in Paris, in the Marais district. One of the most lively districts, full of restaurants, cafes, brasseries and boutiques, here you will get to see what real Parisian life is like. The Place de la République is just a short walk away. The nearest underground station is Filles du Calvaire.

Here as well the 52 guest rooms boast an ethnic-contemporary decor representing the people of sun.

    Overview 7.60 /10

The 1K hotel is one of the newest hotels to open in the French capital. Opened in September 2014, it is designed to reflect the Inca culture of Peru. Once you walk into the lobby, you will come face to face with three lizards each a metre long. The designers of the hotel wanted to immerse guests in a totally new environment for the hotel industry, that of the Incas. Its evocative name is already a good start but the hotel's decor also represents this theme well. Architect Raymond Morel (who also designed the Murano, and the Kube in Paris) was in charge of the decorating. He wished to use a mix of untreated wood, bronze, brass and even gold materials. Earth-coloured floor, chain curtains covering 20 metres of walls printed with a huge upside-down pyramid, mysterious dancing light: all elements that conjure up images of this mysterious civilisation from the Andes. The entire universe of the Inca people can be found here in this unusual and surreal spot in the middle of Paris. You will also see Peruvian masks and Inca patterns here and there about the hotel. The must-see in the hotel is of course the giant terrarium located at the reception.

    Food and drink 7.70 /10

The restaurant is open in the evening and proposes exclusively Andean cuisine but adapted to our Western tastes. A perpetual game between all of our taste buds: crunchy and soft, spicy and mild, acidic and sweet. You can also enjoy all of these dishes on the hotel's terrace.

One of the assets of this hotel is its prime location just a few minutes from the Place de la République. The rooms are conventional, as are the bathrooms, so if you're after something with a little more charm, you might be better off looking elsewhere!

This hotel in the heart of Paris is surrounded by many lively neighbourhoods. The guest rooms are decorated with various different colour schemes, but compared to today's standards, they can appear a little old-fashioned. In any case, there is a wide selection so ask to see a few before making your choice. The welcome is genuinely friendly.

The George V is one of the most prestigious Parisian palaces in the city. You barely have to cross the threshold before realising you are entering a hotel in which luxury, perfection and indulgence are the name of the game. Boasting rooms fit for a princess, impressive lounges and a Michelin-starred restaurant, the George V ticks all the boxes when it comes to satisfying even the most demanding of guests. The interior designer Pierre Yves Rochon oversaw the complete refurbishment of the building in 1997, and has since then continued to make improvements to the decor in the 18th Century style.

The latest Parisian luxury hotel, the Shangri-La will seduce a demanding clientele that will know how to appreciate the richly ornate Empire style of this particular hotel. Nothing more can be said about the lengths taken to find the materials, designs, and other accessories that contribute to recreating the atmosphere of the 19th century, while at the same time offering the comfort and modernity of the 21st century. This extremely shiny and ornate Empire style may scare away some potential guests, however, it is still a real privilege to stay in this residence previously owned by a prince, the great nephew of Napoleon.

Inaugurated on 28 February 2012, the W Paris - Opera has finally opened in the City of Light. The Starwood brand linked to fashion and trends thus has its own prestigious establishment in Paris.
Nestled in a 19th century building, the hotel is in a great location. Design and modernity, with a conceptual touch, all come together here. Its designer is in the best position to explain why, since we're not sure it's really clear otherwise, but the W Paris-Opera is centred around the theme The Spark. The establishment thus defines itself as a "spark", creating a fictitious connection between the very first W hotel in New York and its newest sibling in Paris.

At the heart of the Opera district, the W can already rely on its guests who are fans of the brand and hopes that word of mouth will make it the place to be in the area; not just for its rooms but for its restaurant and bar as well.
