This hotel is a lovely surprise at the heart of Paris, and so is its superb, luxuriant inner terrace, which is the perfect place for breakfast.
14/20
The hotel occupies an enviable location in the city, bordering several famous and dynamic districts in the centre of Paris. It is at the crossroads between the 3rd and 11th arrondissements, making it just as easy to access the nightlife of the city as to explore the cultural highlights beloved of tourists. To one side are the bars of Oberkampf and to the other are the watering holes around Place de Bastille and its maze of alleys bursting with restaurants, all kinds and clubs, and friendly pubs. Meanwhile, head west from the hotel and you are soon in the Marais district, with its museums (Picasso, Carnavalet and Pompidou) and the very stylish Place des Vosges. There is also plenty to explore further afield, and thanks to the nearby Place de la Bastille and Place de la République, which are served by the main metro lines, you can get just about anywhere else in town with a minimum of fuss. The Campanile is near to two metro stations, Chemin Vert and Bréguet Sabin.
The new look of the recently renovated Campanile really is highly innovative. The whole concept behind the decor is called 'New Generation', so the idea was to give the guest rooms of the hotel a really fresh look, and the outcome is a real success. Four of the six floors were refurbished in this way. The accommodation is divided into double and quadruple rooms, and they positively glow with their flashy, energetic colours and cheery feel. The explosive apple green paintings, dignified grey headboards, and the blend of leather and wood all combine to give the rooms a very mellow appearance that manages to be intense at the same time. The lights are sunk into metal fittings, adding a sleek and polished aspect. The white and grey bathrooms have a similarly dignified feel to them, and the very original shape of the wash basin is sure to catch the eye. A few of the rooms overlooking the garden even have a terrace. There is free Wi-Fi access and the television shows French and TNT channels.
For a chain hotel boasting only 2 stars, this establishment is a real success, with plenty of surprises in store. Its main asset is the vast, airy breakfast room that opens onto a garden terrace. Such a feature is a godsend in this very central part of Paris, acting as a green lung and providing a spot of welcome fresh air. During fine weather, you can sit out there for breakfast. The Campanile was renovated in the summer of 2010, and features very appealing contemporary decor with welcoming, modern shades of colour and a dash of style. In the lobby there is a grey and taupe coloured space furnished with a sofa and dark wood furniture. There is also a large luggage storage room.

The special decor in this hotel is inspired by a hunting theme and the spirit of Provence, but also exudes the fresh lightness of all chain hotels. The hotel does not have a restaurant but it is close to the Bastille, which boasts a wide variety of sophisticated and more down-to-earth eateries. The delightful Place des Vosges is also nearby, so the location is ideal for exploring Paris via the little alleyways of the Marais.
The Grand Hôtel Amelot is very well located close to two very lively areas, Bastille and République. It boasts large rooms whose welcoming decor is retro in style, but with modern bathrooms.
A small, fairly intimate hotel in a young, dynamic part of the city which hides plenty of surprises. The basic yet extremely charming little guest rooms all feature parquet flooring, just one of the elements which bring a touch of luxury to the place.
This hotel has no class to speak of, but it is located in one of the liveliest parts of the capital, with no shortage of places to go for a night out. The rooms are a good size and have everything you need for a comfortable stay with no extra frills, and the owner is forthcoming and friendly.
A welcoming but trendy and modern hotel that keeps things simple, mid-way between the Bastille and the Marais.
This wonderful little 3 star hotel offers a soft, colourful decor, and designer furniture, all while staying very simple, and with the welcome you'll receive you could be forgiven for thinking you were staying at a guest house. The communal areas of the hotel are very pleasant indeed and there's nothing better than relaxing with a coffee on the comfortable bench seats in the lounge.
This hotel residence near Bastille was recently renovated, and its studio and apartment accommodation now offers modern decor, a high level of comfort and quality amenities.
This very comfortable hotel with an appearance both retro and chic boasts an interesting history along with stylish rooms each with their own original touch.
This is a hotel full of French style in which no copies or reproductions will be tolerated. The Bristol is one of the few luxury hotels in Paris that belongs to a European family (German) rather than one of the great families of Asia or the United Arab Emirates. Stylish, classy and refined, the Bristol holds great importance in the quality and authenticity of its features and materials. Its gourmet restaurant attracts a demanding clientele that is fond of excellent cuisine.
The George V is one of the most prestigious Parisian palaces in the city. You barely have to cross the threshold before realising you are entering a hotel in which luxury, perfection and indulgence are the name of the game. Boasting rooms fit for a princess, impressive lounges and a Michelin-starred restaurant, the George V ticks all the boxes when it comes to satisfying even the most demanding of guests. The interior designer Pierre Yves Rochon oversaw the complete refurbishment of the building in 1997, and has since then continued to make improvements to the decor in the 18th Century style.
The latest Parisian palace to open its doors on 1 August 2014. The French chic and sophistication goes perfectly with the Asian elegance in the magnificent building dating from 1908. This is the Peninsula Group's first hotel to open in France but also in Europe.
The latest Parisian luxury hotel, the Shangri-La will seduce a demanding clientele that will know how to appreciate the richly ornate Empire style of this particular hotel. Nothing more can be said about the lengths taken to find the materials, designs, and other accessories that contribute to recreating the atmosphere of the 19th century, while at the same time offering the comfort and modernity of the 21st century. This extremely shiny and ornate Empire style may scare away some potential guests, however, it is still a real privilege to stay in this residence previously owned by a prince, the great nephew of Napoleon.
It took five Haussmanian buildings to bring the Park Hyatt Paris Vendôme into existence, and it is the first luxury hotel in Paris to be designed in a contemporary fashion. Comfort, style and impeccable service all come together here in a younger, more modern setting.
Inaugurated on 28 February 2012, the W Paris - Opera has finally opened in the City of Light. The Starwood brand linked to fashion and trends thus has its own prestigious establishment in Paris.
Nestled in a 19th century building, the hotel is in a great location. Design and modernity, with a conceptual touch, all come together here. Its designer is in the best position to explain why, since we're not sure it's really clear otherwise, but the W Paris-Opera is centred around the theme The Spark. The establishment thus defines itself as a "spark", creating a fictitious connection between the very first W hotel in New York and its newest sibling in Paris.
At the heart of the Opera district, the W can already rely on its guests who are fans of the brand and hopes that word of mouth will make it the place to be in the area; not just for its rooms but for its restaurant and bar as well.
Confidentiality is the order of the day at this very upmarket establishment, perfect for VIPs looking for a little discretion, and private events are also held here.
The Meurice is one of Paris's best addresses. With its contemporary yet quintessentially Parisian décor realised by great names such as Stark and his daughter. The Meurice is an exclusive haunt. the hotel's main restaurant, Le Meurice, is headed by 3 Michelin star Chef Yannick Alléno which is, needless to say, one of the highlights of a stay at the hotel. In a fantastic location right opposite the Jardin des Tuileries, the rooms are tastefully decorated and the service is impeccable.
