"The best solution to any problem is to take a break..." and where better to take a break than at the Claridge Hotel with its small cosy restaurant, recently refurbished entrance hall and neo-classical rooms.
The hotel is ideally located; it's only a short walk away from Avenue Montaigne and the Champs Elysées where you have a choice of luxury shops, museums, or a stroll down the banks of the Seine. If you decide to leave the hotel on foot, a nice walk takes you to 'place de la concorde', which is most enjoyable.
The 42 rooms of the establishment are relatively small (between 13 et 32m²) but all fully equipped and, more importantly, comfortable. Their traditional interior has been slightly reworked and mixes modern colours such as red, white and turquoise blue with more classical elements: toile de Jouy, velvet, wall-to-wall carpet, thick curtains, etc. There are 20 "superior" rooms, 12 "deluxe" rooms and 10 "junior suites". The junior suites come in two different layouts: with a large dressing room or with a bigger bedroom and a balcony. In terms of amenities, there is individual air-conditioning, a mini-bar with a courtesy platter, a safe, a flat-screen TV and a courtesy bottle of water awaiting you upon your arrival The bathrooms have a hair-dryer, bath robes and slippers. Sadly none of the rooms look out onto the courtyard as they all face rue Marboeuf or rue François 1er. Ironing boards and irons are provided upon request.
The communal areas (lobby area and restaurant) were renovated in December 2009; they have retained a classical style with a few modern touches: chocolate-coloured velvet armchairs, beige camaieu, an 'optical illusion' bookshelf, big candles and black lamps. The atmosphere is relaxing in this establishment with its harmonious blend of colours. The restaurant and bar have been decorated in the same vein. In the corridors and stairways of the hotel, guests can admire paintings and photos. These are provided by an art gallery and changed on a regular basis. The hotel includes a small conference room with natural lighting. It can sit 15 people and is fully equipped (screen, video projector, etc.). There is free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, as well as a web corner. It should also be mentioned that the management has not forgotten its younger guests, as board games are available.
The ?C? (for Claridge) has recently opened its doors within the hotel and welcomes guests every day from 12:30pm till 11:00pm. This is also where guests have their breakfast. Much like the rest of the hotel, the atmosphere here is refined and cosy and offers a perfect setting for a small break from work, or from shopping. The menu is simple and includes salads, omelettes, soups and quiches... The prices are affordable and do not exceed ?12 for a dish. Furthermore, the menus are interesting, there is the ?10 option that includes a main dish, a small bottle of Evian water or a glass of wine, or the ?18 option that includes a main dish, a desert, half a bottle of wine or water, and a cup of coffee. It could even be said that the prices are particularly reasonable given the hotel's surrounding area. Tea lovers will have a large selection to choose from in the Palais des Thés.
The hotel has implemented environmentally-friendly policies in which it involves its guests: low consumption light bulbs and water regulators, movement detectors in the corridors, a chemical-free laundry service, the management (with client participation) of laundry and hospitality paraben-free products that come in eco-friendly wrapping.

The Chambiges Elysées hotel is perfect for a cultural weekend, its decoration is classic and it is located a stone's throw away from Paris' most interesting museums.
After a complete renovation in 2009, the hotel has once again found its Golden Years' style - the decoration theme of the 1920's in which neither comfort nor attention to detail were overlooked.
The Powers hotel is one of the gems of traditional Parisian hotels.
A cosy and luxurious Art Deco setting and an equally luxurious district make La Trémoille an ideal hotel.
This pretty boutique-hotel has a number of advantages, not least its sophisticated decor and ideal location.
Not far from the Champs-Elysées, the Marignan Champs-Elysées hotel is proud of its interior, marked by a sophisticated and modern elegance. The establishment is highly popular and its bar and restaurant are frequented by the elite of the Parisian cinema industry and business world.
The decor at this former hotel residence is low-key with the emphasis on functionality; indeed, some of the rooms and suites still have their fully-equipped kitchens.
This hotel was actually a family-run guesthouse in the 1930s, and although the Group has obviously renovated and improved it (it remained a 2-star and then a 3-star for a long time), the spirit lives on through its loyal staff and very classic decor...
This is a hotel full of French style in which no copies or reproductions will be tolerated. The Bristol is one of the few luxury hotels in Paris that belongs to a European family (German) rather than one of the great families of Asia or the United Arab Emirates. Stylish, classy and refined, the Bristol holds great importance in the quality and authenticity of its features and materials. Its gourmet restaurant attracts a demanding clientele that is fond of excellent cuisine.
The George V is one of the most prestigious Parisian palaces in the city. You barely have to cross the threshold before realising you are entering a hotel in which luxury, perfection and indulgence are the name of the game. Boasting rooms fit for a princess, impressive lounges and a Michelin-starred restaurant, the George V ticks all the boxes when it comes to satisfying even the most demanding of guests. The interior designer Pierre Yves Rochon oversaw the complete refurbishment of the building in 1997, and has since then continued to make improvements to the decor in the 18th Century style.
The latest Parisian palace to open its doors on 1 August 2014. The French chic and sophistication goes perfectly with the Asian elegance in the magnificent building dating from 1908. This is the Peninsula Group's first hotel to open in France but also in Europe.
The latest Parisian luxury hotel, the Shangri-La will seduce a demanding clientele that will know how to appreciate the richly ornate Empire style of this particular hotel. Nothing more can be said about the lengths taken to find the materials, designs, and other accessories that contribute to recreating the atmosphere of the 19th century, while at the same time offering the comfort and modernity of the 21st century. This extremely shiny and ornate Empire style may scare away some potential guests, however, it is still a real privilege to stay in this residence previously owned by a prince, the great nephew of Napoleon.
It took five Haussmanian buildings to bring the Park Hyatt Paris Vendôme into existence, and it is the first luxury hotel in Paris to be designed in a contemporary fashion. Comfort, style and impeccable service all come together here in a younger, more modern setting.
Inaugurated on 28 February 2012, the W Paris - Opera has finally opened in the City of Light. The Starwood brand linked to fashion and trends thus has its own prestigious establishment in Paris.
Nestled in a 19th century building, the hotel is in a great location. Design and modernity, with a conceptual touch, all come together here. Its designer is in the best position to explain why, since we're not sure it's really clear otherwise, but the W Paris-Opera is centred around the theme The Spark. The establishment thus defines itself as a "spark", creating a fictitious connection between the very first W hotel in New York and its newest sibling in Paris.
At the heart of the Opera district, the W can already rely on its guests who are fans of the brand and hopes that word of mouth will make it the place to be in the area; not just for its rooms but for its restaurant and bar as well.
Confidentiality is the order of the day at this very upmarket establishment, perfect for VIPs looking for a little discretion, and private events are also held here.
The Meurice is one of Paris's best addresses. With its contemporary yet quintessentially Parisian décor realised by great names such as Stark and his daughter. The Meurice is an exclusive haunt. the hotel's main restaurant, Le Meurice, is headed by 3 Michelin star Chef Yannick Alléno which is, needless to say, one of the highlights of a stay at the hotel. In a fantastic location right opposite the Jardin des Tuileries, the rooms are tastefully decorated and the service is impeccable.
