Despite being close to place de la Concorde, this establishment does not try to compete with its neighbouring luxury boutiques and humbly proposes functional rooms which show little in the way of interior decorating.

    Location 7.23 /10

To enter into Résidence la Concorde you have to cross a small courtyard and catch a lift that will swiftly take you to the third floor where the receptionist awaits your arrival. This particular layout ensures a certain degree of calm while the grandiose 'place de la Concorde' is bustling with life only a few yards away. The jewelers of Place Vendôme, the Champs Elysées and the Louvre museum will certainly put that glimmer in your eye, and a relaxing break at the nearby jardin des Tuileries will provide some respite from all that activity. The Concorde metro station is two steps away from the hotel.

    Accommodation 6.70 /10

For a touch of luxury that will make your Parisian trip all the more glamorous, you must head for rue Cambon and leave your room as everything in Résidence la Concorde, from the toilets to the rooms, lacks in class. However, everything has been designed for optimum functionality: the rooms have a double bed, or two single beds, a safe, a desk, a direct phone line and a TV set. The bathrooms are fitted with a shower and equipped with a hair-dryer. Some of the rooms also include a small lounge area with a sofa. The establishment's 25 rooms are relatively small (as is often the case in the centre of Paris for this category of hotel), but entirely adequate. They have a small and empty fridge and during our stay the rooms were being fitted with air-conditioning.

    Overview 6.70 /10

Guests can have their ?11 buffet breakfast in a small and scantily decorated room. The lift that takes you to your room (some are on the sixth floor and are quite charming with visible ceiling beams) would be a suitable attraction in a funfair with its abrupt stops. Each room has free wireless Internet access. Instead of a bar the hotel has a vending machine, but don't worry as the neighbourhood is packed with bars and restaurants. The closest car park is less than half a mile away but it is nearly always full.

In a part of Paris bristling with Palaces and some of the most grandiose and reputed hotels in the world, the Hôtel Cambon is a bit of an exception. It is a small hotel, more intimate and personal than its prestigious neighbours on Place Vendôme, Place de la Concorde and rue de Rivoli. The originality of the artistic decor that features throughout is a winner, with contemporary and more classic paintings hung on all the walls and in all the rooms.

This modern and luxurious 4 star establishment is a wonderfully charming place. The new decor scheme at the hotel is a harmonious combination of modern style and tradition, a lone reflection of what makes Paris the eternal city of history and romance that it is, all while keeping with the times. The function rooms at the hotel are a fine example of the sumptuous surroundings it has provided since it was first opened. Indeed, Victor Hugo, the man responsible for Les Misérables, celebrated his 80th birthday in the breathtaking Impérial Salon.

The Richepanse has a lot of character as it is one of the rare Art Déco hotels of the capital. It is worth your while to spend some time examining the details of the rooms' interior decor.

The latest Parisian luxury hotel, the Shangri-La will seduce a demanding clientele that will know how to appreciate the richly ornate Empire style of this particular hotel. Nothing more can be said about the lengths taken to find the materials, designs, and other accessories that contribute to recreating the atmosphere of the 19th century, while at the same time offering the comfort and modernity of the 21st century. This extremely shiny and ornate Empire style may scare away some potential guests, however, it is still a real privilege to stay in this residence previously owned by a prince, the great nephew of Napoleon.

Inaugurated on 28 February 2012, the W Paris - Opera has finally opened in the City of Light. The Starwood brand linked to fashion and trends thus has its own prestigious establishment in Paris.
Nestled in a 19th century building, the hotel is in a great location. Design and modernity, with a conceptual touch, all come together here. Its designer is in the best position to explain why, since we're not sure it's really clear otherwise, but the W Paris-Opera is centred around the theme The Spark. The establishment thus defines itself as a "spark", creating a fictitious connection between the very first W hotel in New York and its newest sibling in Paris.

At the heart of the Opera district, the W can already rely on its guests who are fans of the brand and hopes that word of mouth will make it the place to be in the area; not just for its rooms but for its restaurant and bar as well.
