The Galiléo is located in the centre but in a very quiet residential street, ideal for guests looking for a little peace and quiet. The hotel is small, basic, clean and the staff is very friendly.

    Location 6.51 /10

Centrally located, the Galiléo Hotel is a few minutes' walk from the buzz of the Champs Elysees and from the nearest metro station, George V (line 1). The hotel is otherwise in a quiet residential area. The surrounding establishments are rather expensive.

    Accommodation 6.70 /10

The rooms are functional and clean. The beds are comfortable. Rooms range from £140 (159 Euros) for a single to £164 (185 Euros) for a double room. The rooms have the basics - hairdryer, telephone, a safe, mini-bar (non-alcoholic), and old-generation televisions with various television channels including BBC World and CNN. The bathrooms have towels and very basic toiletries, so guests should bring their own if like to be pampered! There are also two rooms which have been designed for wheelchair-bound guests and the lift reaches all the way down to the breakfast room for easy access. The nicest rooms are along the top floor of the hotel as they have a part-conservatory, letting in plenty of natural light in. Check-in: 2pm/check-out: 12pm.

    Overview 5.70 /10

The lobby is small yet clean and neat like the other hotels which are owned by the same proprietor. The style is classical and dated; however when in Paris very little time is spent in the hotel lobby, so the Galiléo is a good base. Down the stairs straight ahead, the atmosphere is lightened with a small courtyard visible through a glass window (for decoration purposes). The breakfast room is in the basement - it is basic and relatively nondescript. There is no particular charm to the rest of the hotel, it is rather functional. The hotel is clean and neat throughout.

    Food and drink 5.70 /10

Like in the three other hotels of the same chain, there is a breakfast room that is a little dark, in the basement. The hotel serves breakfast (7am-11.30am) at the guest's request; it must be mentioned during booking. The breakfast usually includes various pastries, a selection of hams and cheeses, cereal, orange juice, tea and coffee. There is also a buffet option for £12 (13 Euros). Should guests wish to have other meals in their room, the hotel has an agreement with nearby sandwich shops and pizza parlours which can be delivered straight up to the guest's room between 7am-8pm.

    To know

The Galiléo Hotel is owned by the same proprietor as the Des 2 Iles, the Lutèce and the Henri IV Hotels. Opened 20 years ago, it was last renovated in 2001.The Galileo consist of 27 rooms spread over 5 floors. The staff here is very friendly and helpful.

This establishment boasts the colours and the typically-Scandinavian sobriety that has become the trademark of this hotel group. Nothing is overdone, everything remains discrete, which comes as a relief in this kind of neighbourhood. It's the perfect address for couples who want to enjoy the pleasures of the city.

This is an ideal solution for families with young children who are looking for home-comforts on holiday. The concept behind these fully-equipped apartments is all the more appreciated for long stays. However, some of the apartments could be deemed as lacking in character. Nevertheless, they are regularly repainted and renovated.

This is a hotel full of French style in which no copies or reproductions will be tolerated. The Bristol is one of the few luxury hotels in Paris that belongs to a European family (German) rather than one of the great families of Asia or the United Arab Emirates. Stylish, classy and refined, the Bristol holds great importance in the quality and authenticity of its features and materials. Its gourmet restaurant attracts a demanding clientele that is fond of excellent cuisine.

Boasting rooms fit for a princess, impressive lounges and a Michelin-starred restaurant, the George V ticks all the boxes when it comes to satisfying even the most demanding of guests. The interior designer Pierre Yves Rochon oversaw the complete refurbishment of the building in 1997, and has since then continued to make improvements to the decor in the 18th Century style.

The latest Parisian luxury hotel, the Shangri-La will seduce a demanding clientele that will know how to appreciate the richly ornate Empire style of this particular hotel. Nothing more can be said about the lengths taken to find the materials, designs, and other accessories that contribute to recreating the atmosphere of the 19th century, while at the same time offering the comfort and modernity of the 21st century. This extremely shiny and ornate Empire style may scare away some potential guests, however, it is still a real privilege to stay in this residence previously owned by a prince, the great nephew of Napoleon.

Inaugurated on 28 February 2012, the W Paris - Opera has finally opened in the City of Light. The Starwood brand linked to fashion and trends thus has its own prestigious establishment in Paris.
Nestled in a 19th century building, the hotel is in a great location. Design and modernity, with a conceptual touch, all come together here. Its designer is in the best position to explain why, since we're not sure it's really clear otherwise, but the W Paris-Opera is centred around the theme The Spark. The establishment thus defines itself as a "spark", creating a fictitious connection between the very first W hotel in New York and its newest sibling in Paris.

At the heart of the Opera district, the W can already rely on its guests who are fans of the brand and hopes that word of mouth will make it the place to be in the area; not just for its rooms but for its restaurant and bar as well.
