    Location 6.86 /10

The hotel occupies an enviable location in the city, bordering several famous and dynamic districts at the centre of Paris. Located just between the 3rd and 11th arrondissements, it is as easy to go from here to the city's night spots as it is to explore the cultural highlights beloved of tourists. Mid-way between République and Bastille, to one side are the bars of Oberkampf; to the other, the watering holes around Place de Bastille and its maze of alleys bursting with restaurants, all kinds of clubs and friendly pubs. Meanwhile, head west from the hotel and you are soon in the Marais district, with its museums (Picasso, Carnavalet, Pompidou) and the very stylish Place des Vosges. There is also plenty to explore further afield, and thanks to the nearby Place de la Bastille and Place de la République, which are served by the main metro lines, you can get just about anywhere else in town with a minimum of fuss. Don't miss the chance to enjoy lunch or stop for a coffee at the very friendly Parisian bistro on the corner of the street, La Vache Acrobate.

    Accommodation 7.20 /10

The stylish, cosy and comfortable rooms are all decorated in near-identical fashion with old photos of Paris on the walls and red or blue carpets on the floors injecting a dash of class and indulgence. The light wood furniture and red bedspreads add extra warmth and the rooms in the top floor are actually in the mansard. The bathrooms are more modern than the rooms and contain the the most contemporary facilities. Some are adorned with mosaic tiles, others with larger tiles in very trendy dark shades. The rooms are equipped with a television, Wi-Fi access (charged) and air-conditioning.

    Overview 7.45 /10

This is a totally original hotel decorated throughout in a retro style that gives no ground to contemporary or designer tendencies. Instead, impressive carved woodwork is what meets the eye, and the reception, corridors and rooms are finished with fine, painstakingly crafted wood panelling. This is not to say that the place is behind the times or old fashioned; far from it. The dark tiling on the floors and pretty wallpaper decorated in an antique style create a combination of retro and modern influences. The overall feel created by the warm reds and browns, together with the wood features, is welcoming. The hotel has been run by the same family since 1970, and today father and son extend the warmest of welcomes. The ground-floor breakfast room is housed in a large room with tables set with red table cloths, while the reception lounge is just behind the reception itself and is furnished with white sofas and freshened up with flowers. The fine flight of forged iron steps marking the entrance of the hotel is a remarkable piece of metalwork.

The special decor in this hotel is inspired by a hunting theme and the spirit of Provence, but also exudes the fresh lightness of all chain hotels. The hotel does not have a restaurant but it is close to the Bastille, which boasts a wide variety of sophisticated and more down-to-earth eateries. The delightful Place des Vosges is also nearby, so the location is ideal for exploring Paris via the little alleyways of the Marais.

The communal areas of the hotel are very pleasant indeed and there's nothing better than relaxing with a coffee on the comfortable bench seats in the lounge.

This is a hotel full of French style in which no copies or reproductions will be tolerated. The Bristol is one of the few luxury hotels in Paris that belongs to a European family (German) rather than one of the great families of Asia or the United Arab Emirates. Stylish, classy and refined, the Bristol holds great importance in the quality and authenticity of its features and materials. Its gourmet restaurant attracts a demanding clientele that is fond of excellent cuisine.

The George V is one of the most prestigious Parisian palaces in the city. You barely have to cross the threshold before realising you are entering a hotel in which luxury, perfection and indulgence are the name of the game. Boasting rooms fit for a princess, impressive lounges and a Michelin-starred restaurant, the George V ticks all the boxes when it comes to satisfying even the most demanding of guests. The interior designer Pierre Yves Rochon oversaw the complete refurbishment of the building in 1997, and has since then continued to make improvements to the decor in the 18th Century style.

The latest Parisian luxury hotel, the Shangri-La will seduce a demanding clientele that will know how to appreciate the richly ornate Empire style of this particular hotel. Nothing more can be said about the lengths taken to find the materials, designs, and other accessories that contribute to recreating the atmosphere of the 19th century, while at the same time offering the comfort and modernity of the 21st century. This extremely shiny and ornate Empire style may scare away some potential guests, however, it is still a real privilege to stay in this residence previously owned by a prince, the great nephew of Napoleon.

Inaugurated on 28 February 2012, the W Paris - Opera has finally opened in the City of Light. The Starwood brand linked to fashion and trends thus has its own prestigious establishment in Paris.
Nestled in a 19th century building, the hotel is in a great location. Design and modernity, with a conceptual touch, all come together here. Its designer is in the best position to explain why, since we're not sure it's really clear otherwise, but the W Paris-Opera is centred around the theme The Spark. The establishment thus defines itself as a "spark", creating a fictitious connection between the very first W hotel in New York and its newest sibling in Paris.

At the heart of the Opera district, the W can already rely on its guests who are fans of the brand and hopes that word of mouth will make it the place to be in the area; not just for its rooms but for its restaurant and bar as well.

In a fantastic location right opposite the Jardin des Tuileries, the rooms are tastefully decorated and the service is impeccable.
