    Location 9.0 /10

The location could not be more regal when it comes to visiting historical Paris. The hotel is close to the metro stations of Palais Royal and Pyramides, and just a short stroll from the amazing Jardins du Palais Royal gardens and the luxury boutiques lining Place Vendôme. As well as indulging in some window shopping, admiring the latest designer outfits, you can browse the souvenir shops just round the corner under the arcades of rue de Rivoli. Other top destinations like Notre Dame cathedral and Les Halles are also accessible on foot. As far as meals are concerned, your biggest problem will be in narrowing down the vast range of choices. The closest car park is in rue Croix des Petits Champs (an extra ? 24 per night).

    Accommodation 8.25 /10

The hotel is housed in an imposing 18th century building, and the moulded ceiling in the lobby is really worth a good look. Unless you didn't want to use your laptop; Wi-Fi is free in this part of the hotel, unlike the rooms. The wide staircase leading to the rooms is so stylish, you may almost wish to avoid using the lift. Breakfast is served in a large, bright room, where a selection of hot drinks, fruit juices, pastries, bread, cereals, cold meats and cheeses is available. In the evening, there is an outsourced room service option enabling you to dine in privacy.

    Overview 7.75 /10

If you are staying on the fifth floor in the winter, you might catch cold, but not because the hotel is not heated (it is actually air-conditioned throughout), but because these rooms have balconies with such a captivating view over the Paris rooftops, you could spend hours outside. Remember to reserve rooms on this floor in advance, because they are very much in demand. The hotel has a total of 84 rooms in the executive and luxury categories. The bedding was renewed in 2009. The decor is pretty minimal, but they do at least have Wi-Fi access (charged) and a television with lots of channels. Lots of the bathrooms have showers instead of baths and it goes without saying that each room has a hair-dryer.

This is a magnificent and prestigious 4-star hotel in which Second Empire decor prevails, although a few of the rooms are a bit more modern. It offers excellent services, and oozes class and refinement. It is also home to a fine brasserie with a mouth-watering menu created by a famous chef, and a bar that offers a particularly intimate and cosy setting.

Stylish, classy and refined, the Bristol holds great importance in the quality and authenticity of its features and materials. The George V is one of the most prestigious Parisian palaces in the city. You barely have to cross the threshold before realising you are entering a hotel in which luxury, perfection and indulgence are the name of the game. Boasting rooms fit for a princess, impressive lounges and a Michelin-starred restaurant, the George V ticks all the boxes when it comes to satisfying even the most demanding of guests. The interior designer Pierre Yves Rochon oversaw the complete refurbishment of the building in 1997, and has since then continued to make improvements to the decor in the 18th Century style.

The latest Parisian luxury hotel, the Shangri-La will seduce a demanding clientele that will know how to appreciate the richly ornate Empire style of this particular hotel. Nothing more can be said about the lengths taken to find the materials, designs, and other accessories that contribute to recreating the atmosphere of the 19th century, while at the same time offering the comfort and modernity of the 21st century. This extremely shiny and ornate Empire style may scare away some potential guests, however, it is still a real privilege to stay in this residence previously owned by a prince, the great nephew of Napoleon.

Inaugurated on 28 February 2012, the W Paris - Opera has finally opened in the City of Light. The Starwood brand linked to fashion and trends thus has its own prestigious establishment in Paris.
Nestled in a 19th century building, the hotel is in a great location. Design and modernity, with a conceptual touch, all come together here. Its designer is in the best position to explain why, since we're not sure it's really clear otherwise, but the W Paris-Opera is centred around the theme The Spark. The establishment thus defines itself as a "spark", creating a fictitious connection between the very first W hotel in New York and its newest sibling in Paris.

At the heart of the Opera district, the W can already rely on its guests who are fans of the brand and hopes that word of mouth will make it the place to be in the area; not just for its rooms but for its restaurant and bar as well.
