    Location 9.03 /10

    15/20
The hotel is a few dozen meters from Saint Michel metro station (line 4), right in the centre of Paris! This is a lively and touristic neighbourhood, with numerous restaurants and many different kinds of bars. It is also the centre of jazz in Paris. What is more, due to its proximity to Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the area affords interesting shopping opportunities. In the heart of Paris, it's a perfect place to visit the rest of the city on foot or with public transport (metro, bus, and RER).

    Accommodation 8.70 /10

The hotel's 107 guest rooms are divided into 4 categories: standard rooms, standard rooms with a view, executive rooms, and executive rooms with a view. Rooms in the final category are larger, and have a lounge area with a sofa bed (one person), a set of bathroom scales, slippers and bathrobes, Thierry Mugler hospitality products and an iPod dock. The decor and layout are identical in all of the rooms, which feature shades of grey and plum, and taupe coloured walls. All the basic amenities are provided, including individual air-conditioning, a mini-bar with a welcome tray, a flat-screen television, and a safe. The bathrooms are pleasant, and are provided with a large shower or a shower and bathtub, depending on the room category, as well as a hair-dryer and Yves Rocher hospitality products. The rooms higher up the hotel on the 6th, 7th and 8th floors have a balcony provided with a table and chairs, and have a wonderful view over the rooftops of Paris. We totally fell in love with rooms 804, 705 and 807...

    Overview 8.20 /10

The hotel building is modern both inside and out. It used to be the premises of the French Ministry of National Education, and although it might look a bit austere at first glance, the inside is a nice surprise. The lobby area is spacious and bright, and the decor features shades of brown and ochre and is well thought out so that nothing clashes. Big panels painted with flowers in trompe l'oeil style add extra light to the room. There is a terrace behind the bar, which is open from 6:30am until midnight. Light snacks are available here during open hours. The breakfast room is on the floor below, and is decorated in a light, discreet fashion ideal for mornings! You can also stop off for a quicker breakfast at the bar. One of this hotel chain's priorities is its strong environmental policy. As well as the towels in the bathrooms, the hotel recycles grey water, reusing the water from the showers and wash basins to flush the hotel toilets. This is a great idea!

    To know

The hotel has a small but well-kept secret: a roof terrace open from 6:30am to 10:00pm, where you can have a drink or enjoy the 360° views over Paris and the city's monuments. Clients not staying at the hotel are also welcome in this space, but only if they reserve in advance.

A small, friendly hotel with Neo-Classical decor and just a dozen or so small but sophisticated guest rooms. The location of the hotel alongside the Place Saint-Michel is particularly handy for exploring an area that is not full of young people and students but which is also steeped in history. Its proximity to Notre-Dame is more or less solely responsible for attracting tourists to the hotel; although great emphasis is placed on the welcome guests receive here too.

The first thing that springs to mind when describing the Best Western Saint-Michel is its very central location. It stands opposite the famous fountain in the city's Latin Quarter, a historic meeting place for Parisian students, among others, and is part of the Best Western chain's 'Premier' collection, so you're guaranteed high-quality service here. It certainly does what it says on the tin, too, offering pleasant yet rather unoriginal guest rooms. The Royal Saint-Michel is also ideally-located for those visiting Paris for the first (or even the second, third...) time, particularly if you are prepared to pay a little more without stretching as far as the prices charged by other hotels in this part of the city.

The hotel is tucked away in a tiny alley of Rue Dauphine, in the heart of the sixth arrondissement of Paris. The Christine is a charming establishment found in a surprising former palace set in a flower-filled courtyard. The special charm of this hotel is apparent as soon as one walks in: it occupies a part of the former 13th century 'Grands Augustins' convent and the first impression one gets is of being surrounded by ancient stonework before being immersed in the soft tones of the reception area. With its 'Nouvel Empire' style, the hotel is very popular among Americans staying in the capital. It is suitable for families and couples.

Stylish, classy and refined, the Bristol holds great importance in the quality and authenticity of its features and materials. Its gourmet restaurant attracts a demanding clientele that is fond of excellent cuisine.

The George V is one of the most prestigious Parisian palaces in the city. You barely have to cross the threshold before realising you are entering a hotel in which luxury, perfection and indulgence are the name of the game. Boasting rooms fit for a princess, impressive lounges and a Michelin-starred restaurant, the George V ticks all the boxes when it comes to satisfying even the most demanding of guests. The interior designer Pierre Yves Rochon oversaw the complete refurbishment of the building in 1997, and has since then continued to make improvements to the decor in the 18th Century style.

The latest Parisian luxury hotel, the Shangri-La will seduce a demanding clientele that will know how to appreciate the richly ornate Empire style of this particular hotel. Nothing more can be said about the lengths taken to find the materials, designs, and other accessories that contribute to recreating the atmosphere of the 19th century, while at the same time offering the comfort and modernity of the 21st century. This extremely shiny and ornate Empire style may scare away some potential guests, however, it is still a real privilege to stay in this residence previously owned by a prince, the great nephew of Napoleon.

Inaugurated on 28 February 2012, the W Paris - Opera has finally opened in the City of Light. The Starwood brand linked to fashion and trends thus has its own prestigious establishment in Paris.
Nestled in a 19th century building, the hotel is in a great location. Design and modernity, with a conceptual touch, all come together here. Its designer is in the best position to explain why, since we're not sure it's really clear otherwise, but the W Paris-Opera is centred around the theme The Spark. The establishment thus defines itself as a "spark", creating a fictitious connection between the very first W hotel in New York and its newest sibling in Paris.

At the heart of the Opera district, the W can already rely on its guests who are fans of the brand and hopes that word of mouth will make it the place to be in the area; not just for its rooms but for its restaurant and bar as well.
