    Location 8.95 /10

The hotel is located in the 'night-life' district of Pigalle, well known for its bars, restaurants, concert venues and cabaret halls. The district is at the foot of the Butte Montmartre hill, and all you need to do is climb to the top to find yourself next to one of the must-see sites of the capital, the Sacré-Cœur. The best music shops of Paris dot nearby streets, and the hotel also rubs shoulders with good restaurants serving traditional cuisine. The closest metro station is Pigalle.

    Accommodation 7.70 /10

Forty of the 52 rooms have shower and toilet facilities. The hotel was not built yesterday, and its most recent renovation is also a distant memory: in the absence of decor, the rooms are adorned only with worn articles of furniture. The bathroom, with a shower, is very small. There are scant facilities, with no internet connection and just one wardrobe in which to hang your clothes and store your suitcases. The CRT television shows satellite channels. As for the view, you have the choice between an uninteresting inner courtyard or the street.

    Overview 7.60 /10

The hotel has been run for more than 30 years by the same person, and what a character! The 'decor' is from a bygone era - but well maintained - and it harks back to the days when this was still a working-class neighbourhood. The reception is quite picturesque, while the lounge areas are spacious, comfortable and quiet. There is even a 24-hour bar serving chilled and alcoholic drinks. Breakfast is taken in the adjacent room, which has an attractive exposed stone wall.

We would particularly recommend the Tryp Blanche to those who want to stroll around Montmartre and like the Pigalle district. It is close to the cabaret venues in a district with quite a local feel, in one of the less sophisticated arrondissements in Paris. Having said that, if you are visiting Paris for the second or third time, you may want to seize the opportunity to start exploring some of the hidden charms of the city.

You will no doubt have already come across the famous 'chat noir', or 'black cat', which gives his name to this bright hotel on postcards, reproduction posters and many other souvenir items besides. Perhaps not suitable for families given the unsavoury shops in the vicinity, it is however a sound choice for couples and groups of young friends looking for a light-hearted hotel and fun times in Paris.

The Bristol is one of the few luxury hotels in Paris that belongs to a European family (German) rather than one of the great families of Asia or the United Arab Emirates. Stylish, classy and refined, the Bristol holds great importance in the quality and authenticity of its features and materials. Its gourmet restaurant attracts a demanding clientele that is fond of excellent cuisine.

The George V is one of the most prestigious Parisian palaces in the city. You barely have to cross the threshold before realising you are entering a hotel in which luxury, perfection and indulgence are the name of the game. Boasting rooms fit for a princess, impressive lounges and a Michelin-starred restaurant, the George V ticks all the boxes when it comes to satisfying even the most demanding of guests. The interior designer Pierre Yves Rochon oversaw the complete refurbishment of the building in 1997, and has since then continued to make improvements to the decor in the 18th Century style.

The latest Parisian luxury hotel, the Shangri-La will seduce a demanding clientele that will know how to appreciate the richly ornate Empire style of this particular hotel. Nothing more can be said about the lengths taken to find the materials, designs, and other accessories that contribute to recreating the atmosphere of the 19th century, while at the same time offering the comfort and modernity of the 21st century. This extremely shiny and ornate Empire style may scare away some potential guests, however, it is still a real privilege to stay in this residence previously owned by a prince, the great nephew of Napoleon.

Inaugurated on 28 February 2012, the W Paris - Opera has finally opened in the City of Light. The Starwood brand linked to fashion and trends thus has its own prestigious establishment in Paris.
Nestled in a 19th century building, the hotel is in a great location. Design and modernity, with a conceptual touch, all come together here. Its designer is in the best position to explain why, since we're not sure it's really clear otherwise, but the W Paris-Opera is centred around the theme The Spark. The establishment thus defines itself as a "spark", creating a fictitious connection between the very first W hotel in New York and its newest sibling in Paris.

At the heart of the Opera district, the W can already rely on its guests who are fans of the brand and hopes that word of mouth will make it the place to be in the area; not just for its rooms but for its restaurant and bar as well.
