The Lumen hotel opened in September 2007 and is a unique establishment, decorated in a baroque revival style by Claudio Colucci; it has since made quite a name for itself.
The hotel is ideally located between Place Vendôme and the gardens of the Palais Royal. It is perfect for a night out with its numerous restaurants, or for a bout of shopping in rue Faubourg St Honoré and rue St Honoré. Otherwise, it is great for soaking up some of the culture of Paris, with the Louvre and the Opéra at a short distance from the hotel.
The interior has been carefully decorated and each of the 33 rooms and suites boast a baroque revival style: baroque fabricss, furniture with clean-cut lines, metal, crystal... All are very well equipped with individual air-conditioning, a flat-screen TV set, a safe and a mini-bar. The designer bathrooms have a hair-dryer, bathrobes, slippers and Lanvin hospitality products. A refreshing towel, a half-bottle of red wine and a half-bottle of water await you upon your arrival. Giuseppe Chierchia has recently been working on the interior of 5 new rooms in the hotel's extension; the style is in the same vein as the rest of the hotel, but different materials have been used (leather, glass...). The rooms and the suites either look out onto the street or onto the church, but both categories are suitably soundproofed. The suite on the top floor is superb with its mansard roof and its jacuzzi
With its discrete entrance on a busy street, the first impression you get of the building is not overwhelming, but the façade is a prettier than its neighbours. Step inside though and the difference is striking. The baroque revival style of Colucci is a rarely-seen thing in Paris: a style which is not too ostentatious, but which displays beautiful materials, splendid curves and clever lighting (the latter being the most important part of the decoration). The lighting is indeed soft (lumen is the Latin word for light), combined with varying tones of grey. In the lobby, a splendid hand-made chandelier shows the logo of the hotel. Free Wi-Fi access is also available. There is a public car park in the street and its exit is right opposite the hotel.
The Passage St Roch is where the hotel has its restaurants. It is open from 07:00am till midnight from Monday to Thursdays, from 07:00am to 01:00am on Fridays and Saturdays and from 07:00am to 08:00pm on Sundays; it serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as afternoon snacks. The style is that of a trendy brasserie (the interior is reminiscent of a boudoir), and the food served is revisited traditional cuisine, with dishes such as tartare, a foie gras Lumen Burger, or a simple plancha with potato mash. The dish of the day changes daily depending on the market. At lunch, the price of a meal ranges from ?18 to ?24 and the clientele is mainly made up of locals, whereas in the evening it primarily attracts the hotel guests. The main attraction of the restaurant is the huge terrace that guests can enjoy when the weather permits. It is very pleasant, especially the area that is on the side of St Roch church.
It stands in a very noisy street; during the day there are a lot of comings and goings and it becomes quite deafening, but in the evening peace and quiet settles in. So, if you arrive here in the afternoon, don't worry, things are going to calm down in a bit.

A historical hotel with a quaint and old fashioned style, most of its rooms date back to 1877, when the hotel was first opened.
The Hôtel des Tuileries is ideally-located for both luxury shopping and a cultural exploration of the city, its elaborate guest rooms providing all the comfort and tranquillity you need after a long day shopping or sightseeing.
This is a small and highly original hotel. All its creative madness is hidden in the common areas, whereas the guest rooms boast a delicate classical style and history-laden architecture. It's really a pleasant surprise.
Although it is humbler that the prestigious rue Saint Honoré where it is located, this intimate hotel banks on its charming little rooms and its friendly atmosphere.
This old private mansion, previously home to Toulouse-Lautrec, and the ideal setting to explore the Louvre and the Opéra, combines modern comfort with the charm of traditional decor in its small, well laid out rooms.
This beautiful hotel has been renovated in a very trendy, elegant, and modern style. It offers double rooms as well as fully equipped studio and apartment accommodation.
One of our firm favourites, the Régina luxury hotel wins hands down for style and character. In a superb location, it sits between the Louvre and the Jardins des Tuileries. The Régina exudes Art Nouveau charm like no other hotel in Paris taking the guests back in time to the early 1900s. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is surprisingly unpretentious and relaxed. Guests should not be surprised to run into film crews or Chanel convoys headed by Mr Lagerfeld himself!
Le Pradey is a gem of a hotel which not only boasts a desirable location in the heart of Paris, but also world class design and interiors which embody the city from two of its top names. Its rooms and suites, some of which are truly unique, are of course relatively small given its location, however they are tastefully appointed and extremely comfortable with good amenities and classy touches to boot. With pleasant public spaces, an excellent breakfast and personable staff, Le Pradey is the ideal place for both business and leisure stays whether this is your first or one hundredth trip to the city of lights. There's no hiding the hefty price tag, but there's no question you get your money's worth.
This is a hotel full of French style in which no copies or reproductions will be tolerated. The Bristol is one of the few luxury hotels in Paris that belongs to a European family (German) rather than one of the great families of Asia or the United Arab Emirates. Stylish, classy and refined, the Bristol holds great importance in the quality and authenticity of its features and materials. Its gourmet restaurant attracts a demanding clientele that is fond of excellent cuisine.
The George V is one of the most prestigious Parisian palaces in the city. You barely have to cross the threshold before realising you are entering a hotel in which luxury, perfection and indulgence are the name of the game. Boasting rooms fit for a princess, impressive lounges and a Michelin-starred restaurant, the George V ticks all the boxes when it comes to satisfying even the most demanding of guests. The interior designer Pierre Yves Rochon oversaw the complete refurbishment of the building in 1997, and has since then continued to make improvements to the decor in the 18th Century style.
The latest Parisian palace to open its doors on 1 August 2014. The French chic and sophistication goes perfectly with the Asian elegance in the magnificent building dating from 1908. This is the Peninsula Group's first hotel to open in France but also in Europe.
The latest Parisian luxury hotel, the Shangri-La will seduce a demanding clientele that will know how to appreciate the richly ornate Empire style of this particular hotel. Nothing more can be said about the lengths taken to find the materials, designs, and other accessories that contribute to recreating the atmosphere of the 19th century, while at the same time offering the comfort and modernity of the 21st century. This extremely shiny and ornate Empire style may scare away some potential guests, however, it is still a real privilege to stay in this residence previously owned by a prince, the great nephew of Napoleon.
It took five Haussmanian buildings to bring the Park Hyatt Paris Vendôme into existence, and it is the first luxury hotel in Paris to be designed in a contemporary fashion. Comfort, style and impeccable service all come together here in a younger, more modern setting.
Inaugurated on 28 February 2012, the W Paris - Opera has finally opened in the City of Light. The Starwood brand linked to fashion and trends thus has its own prestigious establishment in Paris.
Nestled in a 19th century building, the hotel is in a great location. Design and modernity, with a conceptual touch, all come together here. Its designer is in the best position to explain why, since we're not sure it's really clear otherwise, but the W Paris-Opera is centred around the theme The Spark. The establishment thus defines itself as a "spark", creating a fictitious connection between the very first W hotel in New York and its newest sibling in Paris.
At the heart of the Opera district, the W can already rely on its guests who are fans of the brand and hopes that word of mouth will make it the place to be in the area; not just for its rooms but for its restaurant and bar as well.
Confidentiality is the order of the day at this very upmarket establishment, perfect for VIPs looking for a little discretion, and private events are also held here.
The Meurice is one of Paris's best addresses. With its contemporary yet quintessentially Parisian décor realised by great names such as Stark and his daughter. The Meurice is an exclusive haunt. the hotel's main restaurant, Le Meurice, is headed by 3 Michelin star Chef Yannick Alléno which is, needless to say, one of the highlights of a stay at the hotel. In a fantastic location right opposite the Jardin des Tuileries, the rooms are tastefully decorated and the service is impeccable.
