    Location 8.0 /10

Address: 12, rue de Marignan. This means that you're in a street perpendicular to the Avenue des Champs-Elysées, only 100m away from the most famous and romantic avenue in the world. You're also in a wealthy part of Paris, with numerous historic and avant-garde theatres, cinemas, and fashion boutiques. The hotel's location, proudly put forward with the 'Champs Elysées' included in the name, is undoubtedly one of its stronger points. The closest metro station is Franklin D. Roosevelt, where you will find line 9, which will take you to the livelier neighbourhoods for some nightlife, and line 1, which will take you to virtually all of the tourist attractions in Paris, from the Arc de Triomphe to the Place de la Concorde; from the Louvre to Châtelet, the latter being the true hub of the city; and all the way to Bastille and Gare de Lyon train station. However, you won't need public transport to get to the banks of the Seine and enjoy a romantic stroll. If you feel like walking a bit, but not too much, the Eiffel Tower is about 20 minutes away on foot.

    Accommodation 8.20 /10

The 73 rooms (including 8 suites) are spread throughout the hotel's 8 storeys, and their red doors open onto corridors with striped carpeting. In addition to the suites, there are superior (20-25 m²) and deluxe (25-30 m²) units, some of which boast a terrace that is big enough to include a small table. This is a pleasant spot to enjoy your breakfast, as it provides a great opportunity to admire the Eiffel Tower that towers over the rooftops of Paris.
Although the entrance hall was entirely redone in 2004 when the establishment changed owners, the rooms simply underwent some gentle renovations and are not quite as modern in style as one might expect from the entrance. However, although the style is different, the attention to detail is the same. The refinement of the setting is seen in the careful choice of high quality materials, from the very large bed to the delicate linen, to mention but a few examples. The colonial-style wallpaper provides a rather classical touch that plays with the alternating red and white. The amenities include tea and coffee-making facilities, high quality hospitality products, and other small details that add to the refinement of the establishment. In every room there is broadband Internet access, individually adjustable air-conditioning, and 24/7 room service.

    Overview 7.95 /10

You won't have time to open the front door before two hotel employees, all clad in black, will rush up to do it for you. Once inside, you'll be welcomed into the hotel's hushed atmosphere, where the lack of natural lighting in the hall is made up for with artificial dimmed lighting. This obscurity is one of the main characteristics of the style, which is based on a purity of shapes and colours.
A huge oval carpet covers nearly the entire floor surface near the entrance, and mirrors the shape not only of the table, but also of the ceiling's bas-relief from which hangs a baroque chandelier. Draping, intentionally mismatched colours, sturdy furniture, and geometrical sofas: Olivier Gagnère is the famous interior decorator and architect behind this particular style. The hotel occupies a former 18th century townhouse that was renovated in 2006.

    Food and drink 8.45 /10

The hotel restaurant, the Spoon at Marignan, was created by Alain Ducasse himself, the world famous chef who runs establishments all over the globe. The menu offers a selection of French cuisine but also more exotic inventions inspired by culinary traditions from all over the world. Open to the general public, it is popular among the Parisian elite from the worlds of fashion, cinema, and business. The same is true for the hotel bar, the 15cent15, which is highly fashionable in the art world. These two spaces, the bar and the restaurant, boast the same decorative style as the entrance hall. A modern design, intentionally artificial and colourful lighting arrangements, and a classy lounge atmosphere provide the perfect setting in which to enjoy light, refined, and minimalist cuisine.

    To know

The hotel occupies a historic 18th century former townhouse. If you'd like to know more about its history, have a look at the stairway connecting the ground and first floors: it's the original stairway, as seen as the inscriptions carved into the wood.

Stylish, classy and refined, the Bristol holds great importance in the quality and authenticity of its features and materials. Its gourmet restaurant attracts a demanding clientele that is fond of excellent cuisine.

The George V is one of the most prestigious Parisian palaces in the city. You barely have to cross the threshold before realising you are entering a hotel in which luxury, perfection and indulgence are the name of the game. Boasting rooms fit for a princess, impressive lounges and a Michelin-starred restaurant, the George V ticks all the boxes when it comes to satisfying even the most demanding of guests. The interior designer Pierre Yves Rochon oversaw the complete refurbishment of the building in 1997, and has since then continued to make improvements to the decor in the 18th Century style.

The latest Parisian luxury hotel, the Shangri-La will seduce a demanding clientele that will know how to appreciate the richly ornate Empire style of this particular hotel. Nothing more can be said about the lengths taken to find the materials, designs, and other accessories that contribute to recreating the atmosphere of the 19th century, while at the same time offering the comfort and modernity of the 21st century. This extremely shiny and ornate Empire style may scare away some potential guests, however, it is still a real privilege to stay in this residence previously owned by a prince, the great nephew of Napoleon.

Inaugurated on 28 February 2012, the W Paris - Opera has finally opened in the City of Light. The Starwood brand linked to fashion and trends thus has its own prestigious establishment in Paris.
Nestled in a 19th century building, the hotel is in a great location. Design and modernity, with a conceptual touch, all come together here. Its designer is in the best position to explain why, since we're not sure it's really clear otherwise, but the W Paris-Opera is centred around the theme The Spark. The establishment thus defines itself as a "spark", creating a fictitious connection between the very first W hotel in New York and its newest sibling in Paris.

At the heart of the Opera district, the W can already rely on its guests who are fans of the brand and hopes that word of mouth will make it the place to be in the area; not just for its rooms but for its restaurant and bar as well.
