    Location 9.18 /10

The Radisson Blu Ambassador Opéra is located in the heart of Paris and there are several metro stations just a few steps away: Opera, Bourse, Grands Boulevards, and Chaussée d'Antin Lafayette. The large department stores 'Galeries Lafayette' and 'Printemps Hausmann' are within a short walking distance and the Gare St. Lazare train station is found nearby. If you are coming from Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport, the shuttle bus brings you directly to Opéra, right by the hotel. By taxi, allow 45 minutes to get to Roissy, 40 minutes to Orly, and 15 minutes to the Gare du Nord train station (for the Eurostar and Thalys).

    Accommodation 7.95 /10

The 297 guest rooms have been renovated in a contemporary yet cosy style. The hotel is decorated in shades of grey, beige, plum, and turquoise. Refined materials such as marble, leather, and wood blend perfectly with the contemporary furniture. To remind us that we are definitely in a Parisian hotel, framed photographs of the French capital adorn the walls. The light fixtures are elegant and original and the only drawback about this low-key and warm decor is that it is a little simple. Some of the rooms have balconies with views of either Paris or overlooking the internal courtyard and all of them are equipped with modern amenities: tea and coffee-making facilities, individual air-conditioning, a safe, mini-bar, flat-screen TV, iron and ironing board, and free Internet.
Note that guests staying in a Business room enjoy breakfast and laundry services, and have access to the lounge on the 8th floor. Plus, the bathrooms in these rooms have a shower, bath, and a bonsai tree that adds a touch of greenery to the room. The bathrooms in the other rooms have a bath only but most of them have windows, providing natural light. Bear in mind that the 5th floor is a smoking floor.

    Overview 7.95 /10

Before becoming the Radisson Blu Ambassador in 2009, the building - constructed in 1927 - was a hotel that was ahead of its time. The reception to launch Charles Lindbergh's Atlantic crossing took place at the bar here. Another small anecdote: the building was once considered to be at the forefront of modernity as it was the first hotel in Paris to have en-suite bathrooms in all of its rooms when it opened. It was also the first hotel to introduce automatic doors in the 50s. The hotel was bought by the Radisson Hotel Chain in 2009 and was 95% renovated at that time.
The decoration in the large and spacious lobby is both modern and original. Beyond the lobby are small cosy lounges to relax while waiting. A nice wrought iron and glass ceiling, reminiscent of Gustav Eiffel, illuminates the room. Just beside the lobby is the Lindberg bar, yes, it could not be named otherwise. Very cosy and warm, it has retained the atmosphere of the 20s: dark wood, mirrors, art deco lamps, and pictures of Charles Lindberg on the wall. Here you can not have a drink but also order food. The bar has been extended since 1927 and today it has a mezzanine and a lounge area, which offers some privacy for meetings. Another pleasant area in the hotel is the new executive lounge located on the top (8th) floor with views over Paris, including the Sacré Coeur and the Eiffel Tower. This lounge is reserved for guests staying in the business rooms and provides free Internet, drinks, snacks, newspapers, and TV. There are also a number of meeting rooms on the 8th floor.

    Food and drink 8.20 /10

The hotel's restaurant, 16 Hausmann, opened its doors in 1998. It serves refined and original French cuisine in a cosy and chic setting, with its shades of grey, taupe, and plum blending together perfectly. Here and there, an imposing black vase adorns the furniture and Murano chandeliers provide soft lighting throughout the evening. The atmosphere is soft and elegant. This restaurant attracts diners from all over Paris. Breakfast is a special meal. The Radisson wanted to create something new by inventing the concept of the Super Breakfast. Here, you can enjoy Scandinavian, European, and American dishes, as well as a traditional English breakfast. All of the dishes are served buffet-style. For lunch and dinner, Chef Michel Hache prepares French recipes using fresh, seasonal produce. Just to get your mouth watering, here are some examples of the dishes served: leek, smoked salmon, and granny smith cannelloni; roast sea bass filet with yuzu and quinoa crisp; roast veal filet and asparagus risotto with truffle oil and Parmesan shavings... and that's just for starters.

The amenities are of a very high standard, the decor of the common areas is unusual, and lots of different apartments are available to meet the needs of every type of visitor.

The Bristol is one of the few luxury hotels in Paris that belongs to a European family (German) rather than one of the great families of Asia or the United Arab Emirates. Stylish, classy and refined, the Bristol holds great importance in the quality and authenticity of its features and materials. Its gourmet restaurant attracts a demanding clientele that is fond of excellent cuisine.

The George V is one of the most prestigious Parisian palaces in the city. You barely have to cross the threshold before realising you are entering a hotel in which luxury, perfection and indulgence are the name of the game. Boasting rooms fit for a princess, impressive lounges and a Michelin-starred restaurant, the George V ticks all the boxes when it comes to satisfying even the most demanding of guests. The interior designer Pierre Yves Rochon oversaw the complete refurbishment of the building in 1997, and has since then continued to make improvements to the decor in the 18th Century style.

The latest Parisian luxury hotel, the Shangri-La will seduce a demanding clientele that will know how to appreciate the richly ornate Empire style of this particular hotel. Nothing more can be said about the lengths taken to find the materials, designs, and other accessories that contribute to recreating the atmosphere of the 19th century, while at the same time offering the comfort and modernity of the 21st century. This extremely shiny and ornate Empire style may scare away some potential guests, however, it is still a real privilege to stay in this residence previously owned by a prince, the great nephew of Napoleon.

Inaugurated on 28 February 2012, the W Paris - Opera has finally opened in the City of Light. The Starwood brand linked to fashion and trends thus has its own prestigious establishment in Paris.
Nestled in a 19th century building, the hotel is in a great location. Design and modernity, with a conceptual touch, all come together here. Its designer is in the best position to explain why, since we're not sure it's really clear otherwise, but the W Paris-Opera is centred around the theme The Spark. The establishment thus defines itself as a "spark", creating a fictitious connection between the very first W hotel in New York and its newest sibling in Paris.

At the heart of the Opera district, the W can already rely on its guests who are fans of the brand and hopes that word of mouth will make it the place to be in the area; not just for its rooms but for its restaurant and bar as well.
