The Prince de Galles is in a great location a five minute walk from the Champs Elysées. The luxury hotel is simple in its décor and lacks a little character. The hotel is ideal for guests looking to be left to themselves. The rooms are extremely comfortable and the comfortable beds 'pull' guests towards their mounds of cushions and soft linens!

    Location 8.0 /10

Located just off the Champs Elysées, the Prince de Galles is next door to the prestigious George V (Four Seasons). The nearest metro station is George V (line 1) which is a couple minutes away. Visitors will find a number of designer shops and bars in the surroundings. It is a very busy area in the day although the Avenue George V does feel a little calmer in the evenings.

    Accommodation 9.25 /10

The rooms are very attractive and very comfortable. Makes one wish for a blustery stormy day whilst hiding away in the luxurious duvet! The rooms have been renovated in either royal blue or yellow tones of Toile de Jouy (high quality typically French textile) depicting scenes from the colonial era, commonly known as the 'Lutèce' design (also seen on the top floors of the Regina Hotel). The rooms include state of the art plasma screens. Not something to be taken for granted in city hotels, here the guests are free to open the windows - in a lot of city hotels the windows are sealed shut to avoid traffic noise or pollution. Air conditioning and heating units are individually controlled. Every guest receives a bathrobe and slippers. All The bathrooms are basic but in marble. All rooms have bathtubs, light mirrors and toiletries from the Starwood Luxury Collection.

    Overview 8.25 /10

The hotel is very simple yet elegant. The lobby does not feel imposing, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is hushed and relaxed. There are 138 rooms and 30 suites. The rooms are immaculate and have a surprising 'pull' to them; it must be the large comfortable beds with their clean excellent quality linen!

    Food and drink 9.50 /10

The rooms are so comfortable that guests may not want to brace the gold and grey winter days; thankfully the hotel has a 24 hour room service. Otherwise the hotel also has a main restaurant, The Jardin des Cygnes (Garden of Swans), which begins inside and carries through outside onto the green flowery terrace which is highly recommended for al fresco lunching or dining. For cold days, the indoor part of the restaurant brings the outdoors inside with its green leafy carpet motifs. Here, guests can appreciate authentic and refined French food. The restaurant is open from 7am to 10.30pm. For reservations: +33 (0)1 53237777. The hotel also has the Regency Bar, which with its sober décor, red leather and mahogany furniture, creates a comfortable environment for a quiet drink. Open from 11am-12am.

    To know

The Prince de Galles is a luxury hotel that has been open since 1928 and is part of the Starwood chain. The hotel is built on the Chaillot quarries site, which is where the stone used to build the Arc de Triomphe was sourced. The hotel's architecture was inspired by the 1925 Decorative Arts Exhibition with a classical yet modern façade and a remarkable mosaic patio. The hotel owes its name to the aim of the hotel, which was to welcome Edward VII, the Prince of Wales at the time, son of George V, the King of England. The hotel has seen a many famous personalities such as Sir Winston Churchill and Lord Chamberlain among many others. Elvis Presley was also seen in the lobby during his military service.

The George V is one of the most prestigious Parisian palaces in the city. You barely have to cross the threshold before realising you are entering a hotel in which luxury, perfection and indulgence are the name of the game. Boasting rooms fit for a princess, impressive lounges and a Michelin-starred restaurant, the George V ticks all the boxes when it comes to satisfying even the most demanding of guests. The interior designer Pierre Yves Rochon oversaw the complete refurbishment of the building in 1997, and has since then continued to make improvements to the decor in the 18th Century style.

This is an ideal solution for families with young children who are looking for home-comforts on holiday. The concept behind these fully-equipped apartments is all the more appreciated for long stays. However, some of the apartments could be deemed as lacking in character. Nevertheless, they are regularly repainted and renovated.

Stylish, classy and refined, the Bristol holds great importance in the quality and authenticity of its features and materials. Its gourmet restaurant attracts a demanding clientele that is fond of excellent cuisine.

The latest Parisian luxury hotel, the Shangri-La will seduce a demanding clientele that will know how to appreciate the richly ornate Empire style of this particular hotel. Nothing more can be said about the lengths taken to find the materials, designs, and other accessories that contribute to recreating the atmosphere of the 19th century, while at the same time offering the comfort and modernity of the 21st century. This extremely shiny and ornate Empire style may scare away some potential guests, however, it is still a real privilege to stay in this residence previously owned by a prince, the great nephew of Napoleon.

Inaugurated on 28 February 2012, the W Paris - Opera has finally opened in the City of Light. The Starwood brand linked to fashion and trends thus has its own prestigious establishment in Paris.
Nestled in a 19th century building, the hotel is in a great location. Design and modernity, with a conceptual touch, all come together here. Its designer is in the best position to explain why, since we're not sure it's really clear otherwise, but the W Paris-Opera is centred around the theme The Spark. The establishment thus defines itself as a "spark", creating a fictitious connection between the very first W hotel in New York and its newest sibling in Paris.

At the heart of the Opera district, the W can already rely on its guests who are fans of the brand and hopes that word of mouth will make it the place to be in the area; not just for its rooms but for its restaurant and bar as well.
