As the hotel's tag line goes, this is 'Your private address in Paris' and certainly, there are few better bases in the French capital. The difference between a pleasant stay and a memorable stay is the detail and there's no doubting that you will remember your time at the Vendôme with fondness. Right from the moment you step foot inside and are greeted by the smiling porters you'll feel as though you are the most important guest. Whether it's for business or pleasure, this boutique hotel will cater for all your needs with style and elegance.

    Location 7.91 /10

Tucked away in a quiet street behind the rue de Rivoli right opposite the Tuileries Garden in central Paris, the situation could not be better. Some of the most famous sites of Paris are on your doorstep: the Louvre, the Pompidou Centre, Place de la Concorde, the Avenue des Champs-Elysées as well as some of the classiest shops and restaurants in the city. The River Seine is course within easy reach as are the two quaint islands of Ile St. Louis (Notre Dame Sainte-Chapelle) and Ile de la Cité. The area has several metro stations nearby as well as 'Vélib' banks (for bike hire).

    Accommodation 8.95 /10

All of the 97 rooms (12 suites) here follow the same warm colour scheme (honey flannel and maple wood decorate the walls and the curtains and bed plaids are beige). While it is true to say that this is nothing highly original, all linen and furniture is of the highest quality and timeless elegance. Room sizes are generous by Parisian standards and are all extremely well-appointed. The following are common to all categories (there are five in total): flatscreen TV, international channels, DVD/CD player, iPod dock, clock radio, high-speed internet access, personal phone line, mini-bar, safe, iron and ironing board, slippers, bathrobe, air conditioning and complimentary water. The bathrooms are simply yet beautifully finished in marble and wood and include hairdryer, Bulgari toiletries (except deluxe category), bathtub and lighted make-up mirror. The junior suites have both a shower (with two shower heads) and a bathtub and separate WC. Two of the junior suites boast terraces of 100ft². 24-hour room service is available.

    Overview 9.20 /10

The exterior of the hotel tells you all you need to know about what lies within: a spotless threshold, well kept plants and a façade visibly whiter than those of the surrounding buildings. A lobby just as bright as the smiles of the staff greets guests inside. A glass atrium allows abundant light into the entrance hall and falls on the host of flower-filled vases, comfy-looking sofas and armchairs and stylish furniture upon which have been placed various objets d'art. The lighting at night is provided from both discreet spots and table lamps. To the right of the lobby is a cosy lounge with fire place where guests can relax in what could be your own living room with a book borrowed from the shelves built into the walls. Feel free to help yourself to the complimentary juices, tea and coffee and sweets left at your disposal. There is a charge of 15? for 24 hours for the internet. To the left of the entrance is the 'Bar Chinois' which features original Chinese wallpaper and antiques in an intimate setting, perfect for unwinding after a day's sightseeing. It may be fairly small given the size of the hotel but this ensures its ambience, as does the candles and background chill-out music. Two unique concepts in the bar allow guests to create their own cocktails. The hotel has its own gym with cardiovascular machines as well as various exercise machines. Fruit, water and towels are at guests' disposal and TV screens adorn the walls. The sauna and hammam (featuring a star effect on the ceiling) are located close by and the changing rooms are immaculate and well appointed. The small swimming pool, which receives natural light from the courtyard, is surrounded by loungers and armchairs and again, towels are at the guests' disposal.

    Food and drink 9.20 /10

Perhaps the ace up the sleeve of the Renaissance Paris Vendôme is its restaurant Pinxo, brought to you from the Michelin-starred chef Alain Dutournier. After earning his reputation with Le Carré des Feuillants (situated in the same road as the hotel), Dutournier decided to embark on a more casual eatery in the form of Pinxo. The mouth-watering menu is essentially French right the way through, so if you are vegetarian you won't find much for you here! The wine menu is equally Gallic with a substantial choice to suit all pockets. Lunch is served (same menu as dinner) and breakfast can be continental, full American or à la carte. The setting is a simple, sleek and stylish room with 54 covers, including 12 around the open plan kitchen.

    To know

The hotel's spa and wellness services are provided by Swiss urban day spa specialists 'after the rain', a Paris exclusive! They offer a full range of treatments from facials and massages to alchemies to waxing. For a supplement, you can enjoy the same level of attention in the privacy of your own room.

This modern and luxurious 4 star establishment is a wonderfully charming place. The new decor scheme at the hotel is a harmonious combination of modern style and tradition, a lone reflection of what makes Paris the eternal city of history and romance that it is, all while keeping with the times. The function rooms at the hotel are a fine example of the sumptuous surroundings it has provided since it was first opened. Indeed, Victor Hugo, the man responsible for Les Misérables, celebrated his 80th birthday in the breathtaking Impérial Salon.

Stylish, classy and refined, the Bristol holds great importance in the quality and authenticity of its features and materials. Nothing more can be said about the lengths taken to find the materials, designs, and other accessories that contribute to recreating the atmosphere of the 19th century, while at the same time offering the comfort and modernity of the 21st century. This extremely shiny and ornate Empire style may scare away some potential guests, however, it is still a real privilege to stay in this residence previously owned by a prince, the great nephew of Napoleon.

Inaugurated on 28 February 2012, the W Paris - Opera has finally opened in the City of Light. The Starwood brand linked to fashion and trends thus has its own prestigious establishment in Paris.
Nestled in a 19th century building, the hotel is in a great location. Design and modernity, with a conceptual touch, all come together here. Its designer is in the best position to explain why, since we're not sure it's really clear otherwise, but the W Paris-Opera is centred around the theme The Spark. The establishment thus defines itself as a "spark", creating a fictitious connection between the very first W hotel in New York and its newest sibling in Paris.

At the heart of the Opera district, the W can already rely on its guests who are fans of the brand and hopes that word of mouth will make it the place to be in the area; not just for its rooms but for its restaurant and bar as well.
