    Location 8.5 /10

The hotel enjoys a prime location just a stone's throw from the Avenue Montaigne and the Grand Palais, with a good selection of luxury shops and museums in the vicinity. If you're looking for something a little more affordable, though, fear not, as the Champs Elysées is also within walking distance, and you can easily reach other parts of the city on one of the various bus routes or the city's metro system.

    Accommodation 8.45 /10

The hotel's 33 guest rooms and 11 suites will leave you in no doubt as to which city you're in! The colour scheme and patterns used in the decor vary from one room to the next, from blues, greens and yellows to floral fabrics and Toile de Jouy, and with the Louis XV and Empire period furniture and fine porcelain, you could, at times, be forgiven for thinking you were in a museum! The amenities are, of course, modern and include individual air-conditioning, a flat-screen television, two telephone lines, a mini-bar, a large walk-in wardrobe, a safe, a hair-dryer, bathrobes and slippers and Hermès hospitality products, whilst fax machines and DVD-players are also available on request. The rooms here come in 6 different categories, namely Single, Classic, Deluxe, Prestige, Junior Suite with or without terrace and Suite. The luxury Junior Suites have a terrace overlooking the Eiffel Tower and the rooftops of Paris, whilst the Classic rooms have recently been renovated, but have maintained the same style of decor. The other categories of room will also gradually be renovated.

    Overview 7.70 /10

This is a very friendly hotel and you're sure to receive a warm welcome here; indeed, many guests come back time after time and consider the hotel to be their 2nd home. Personalised service is an important factor here, with a team of 40 staff devoted to looking after the hotel's guests, many of whom know the hotel like the back of their hand and are even more familiar with their guests' preferences. In some ways, the hotel is a museum in itself, a reflection of the owner's passion for flea markets, with most of the furniture being second-hand pieces. Wonderful original stained-glass windows adorn the staircase whilst the lounge area features listed wood panelling, but despite this the hotel has also managed to keep with the times and offers free Wi-Fi Internet access. The only thing missing is some sort of sports facilities.

    Food and drink 8.20 /10

The hotel bar is open throughout the day (7:00am to 11:00pm) and is popular among locals who come here for business meetings, though the ambience is altogether more relaxed in the evening, making it the perfect place to relax with a drink. The restaurant is decorated to resemble a private dining room and can accommodate only 25 dinner guests in a very intimate setting. Chef Christophe Lericolais serves up a very tasty menu of traditional cuisine with a few Asian-influenced dishes. The set lunchtime menu (starter + main course for ?28) isn't exactly a bargain, but it does change daily depending on the produce available from the market. The restaurant is open every day to guests of the hotel but only from Monday to Friday for non-residents.

    To know

You might be interested to know that the hotel has always had a connection with the fashion world, with Carmel Snow, Editor-in-Chief of Harper's Bazaar, putting both Dior and the San Régis Hotel on the international stage in the 50s.

With its prime location between the Eiffel Tower and the Champs-Elysées, this hotel stands at the heart of the fashion designer district (with the Chanel headquarters nearby). The façade reveals little of the luxury and refinement that await you inside. However, as soon as you step inside, you'll realise that this is a grand hotel. In fact, this 4-star establishment provides customised service and makes a real effort so that every detail pleases even the most demanding guests.

The George V is one of the most prestigious Parisian palaces in the city. You barely have to cross the threshold before realising you are entering a hotel in which luxury, perfection and indulgence are the name of the game. Boasting rooms fit for a princess, impressive lounges and a Michelin-starred restaurant, the George V ticks all the boxes when it comes to satisfying even the most demanding of guests. The interior designer Pierre Yves Rochon oversaw the complete refurbishment of the building in 1997, and has since then continued to make improvements to the decor in the 18th Century style.

The latest Parisian luxury hotel, the Shangri-La will seduce a demanding clientele that will know how to appreciate the richly ornate Empire style of this particular hotel. Nothing more can be said about the lengths taken to find the materials, designs, and other accessories that contribute to recreating the atmosphere of the 19th century, while at the same time offering the comfort and modernity of the 21st century. This extremely shiny and ornate Empire style may scare away some potential guests, however, it is still a real privilege to stay in this residence previously owned by a prince, the great nephew of Napoleon.

Inaugurated on 28 February 2012, the W Paris - Opera has finally opened in the City of Light. The Starwood brand linked to fashion and trends thus has its own prestigious establishment in Paris.
Nestled in a 19th century building, the hotel is in a great location. Design and modernity, with a conceptual touch, all come together here. Its designer is in the best position to explain why, since we're not sure it's really clear otherwise, but the W Paris-Opera is centred around the theme The Spark. The establishment thus defines itself as a "spark", creating a fictitious connection between the very first W hotel in New York and its newest sibling in Paris.

At the heart of the Opera district, the W can already rely on its guests who are fans of the brand and hopes that word of mouth will make it the place to be in the area; not just for its rooms but for its restaurant and bar as well.
