This modern and luxurious 4 star establishment is a wonderfully charming place. The new decor scheme at the hotel is a harmonious combination of modern style and tradition, a lone reflection of what makes Paris the eternal city of history and romance that it is, all while keeping with the times. The function rooms at the hotel are a fine example of the sumptuous surroundings it has provided since it was first opened. Indeed, Victor Hugo, the man responsible for Les Misérables, celebrated his 80th birthday in the breathtaking Impérial Salon.

    Location 7.63 /10

    17/20
This superb 4 star hotel stands on the corner of Rue de Rivoli and Rue de Castiglione, meaning that you can see the Jardin des Tuileries from the hotel's windows. You can also enjoy some breathtaking views right across the southern part of Paris, catching the city's finest monuments, from the Eiffel Tower to the Louvre Pyramid, in a quick glance. The Westin stands in the most upmarket part of Paris, classing the Ritz and the Crillon among its closest neighbours, and is within a few minutes' walking distance of the Champs Elysées, the Opéra, the Louvre, and Notre-Dame Cathedral. The Westin is also located between the Concorde and Tuileries metro stations.

    Accommodation 8.70 /10

The Westin has 440 guest rooms, including 79 suites, all of which offer a superb level of decor and service. The decor and colour scheme varies from one floor to the next, but the entire hotel simply exudes charm, romanticism, and a certain warmth. All of the guest rooms and suites have been designed along the same lines, the idea being to combine two different periods in time and slightly disorientate, yet dazzle, the guest with this wonderful merging of eras - an often stylish decor mixed with elegant and traditional elements. The hotel still has its big chandeliers, but with a more contemporary twist. Everything here is both sophisticated and full of life, from the furniture, bench seats, purple chaise longue, and lavender cushions to the moulded ceilings, fireplaces, and gilded mirrors. Whether you're staying in a guest room or a suite you'll find the amenities provided include a safe, a minibar, and a television with a keypad you can use to surf the Internet.

    Overview 8.45 /10

The Westin opened in 1878 and was first a monastery before becoming the home of the Ministry of Finance. After the building was destroyed by fire, Napoleon III ordered its reconstruction with the intention of making it a prestigious hotel for the Universal Expo of 1878. As a matter of fact, the hotel's Salon Napoléon function room is actually listed and often plays host to fashion shows. The Westin was entirely redecorated in a very contemporary style in 2009, its new decor based largely on the traditional elements of the hotel. The old chandeliers, for example, have been beautifully surrounded with glass, whilst the Empire-style furniture has been revamped in warm, modern shades of purple. The hotel has been entirely renovated in the same vein, carefully and tastefully combining modern materials and styles with gilding, mouldings, and antique furniture. The hotel boasts no fewer than 5 inner courtyards and 13 very comfortably furnished lounges.

    Food and drink 8.20 /10

The first thing worth pointing out is that there is, in fact, a beehive on the roof of the hotel and you'll find various dishes on the menu that incorporate the honey produced here. In an interesting ecological twist, the hotel's restaurants offer a local menu that uses ingredients from local producers (within a maximum 125 mi radius of Paris). The chef here certainly knows how to combine ingredients that are good for you: part of the 'superfood' concept that all Westin hotels pride themselves on. This vast hotel has a beautiful, boudoir-style restaurant: the First, where the deep sofas, soft lighting, and stylish flowers on the tables make for cosy yet refined surroundings with a harmonious atmosphere. The more eagle-eyed among you may even notice that the spears dotted around the restaurant are the same as those on the gates of the Tuileries. Breakfast is also served in this dining room, though weather permitting you'll find tables and chairs laid out in the inner courtyard for both lunch and dinner. The marble surroundings, fountain, and greenery transform the area into something resembling an indoor garden. The chef uses lots of herbs and seasonings, such as goji berries for example, in his cooking to make it more fun and inventive than traditional French cuisine. The Westin is also home to the Bar Tuilerie, which is a great place for a nightcap before bed. You might also be interested to know that special nights are held here on Thursdays, when a DJ takes control!.

    To know

The Westin is also home to the Six Senses Spa, at the entrance to which you'll find a beautiful plant wall. The spa is somewhat unusual in that its three sections resemble wooden cocoons; cosy and very Zen, they offer intimate surroundings. A variety of massages and honey-based treatments are available. Having settled into your chosen cocoon, you can admire various views of the entire city, projected live onto a panoramic screen in front of you. Thus, you can keep an eye on the comings and goings around Paris as you enjoy being pampered.

In a part of Paris bristling with Palaces and some of the most grandiose and reputed hotels in the world, the Hôtel Cambon is a bit of an exception. It is a small hotel, more intimate and personal than its prestigious neighbours on Place Vendôme, Place de la Concorde and rue de Rivoli. The originality of the artistic decor that features throughout is a winner, with contemporary and more classic paintings hung on all the walls and in all the rooms.

Nothing more can be said about the lengths taken to find the materials, designs, and other accessories that contribute to recreating the atmosphere of the 19th century, while at the same time offering the comfort and modernity of the 21st century. This extremely shiny and ornate Empire style may scare away some potential guests, however, it is still a real privilege to stay in this residence previously owned by a prince, the great nephew of Napoleon.

Inaugurated on 28 February 2012, the W Paris - Opera has finally opened in the City of Light. The Starwood brand linked to fashion and trends thus has its own prestigious establishment in Paris.
Nestled in a 19th century building, the hotel is in a great location. Design and modernity, with a conceptual touch, all come together here. Its designer is in the best position to explain why, since we're not sure it's really clear otherwise, but the W Paris-Opera is centred around the theme The Spark. The establishment thus defines itself as a "spark", creating a fictitious connection between the very first W hotel in New York and its newest sibling in Paris.

At the heart of the Opera district, the W can already rely on its guests who are fans of the brand and hopes that word of mouth will make it the place to be in the area; not just for its rooms but for its restaurant and bar as well.
