The best-known and most visible of the Statues of Liberty in Paris is the one on the Ile aux Cygnes. This little sister was donated to France by the American Committee of Paris on the occasion of the French Revolution. It bears a plaque on which are inscribed the dates of the American and French revolutions. Installed since 1889 near the Pont de Grenelle, it looks out towards New York, where its big sister is enthroned.
