A worldwide anniversary on 16 October

October 16, 2023 will be a special day, fully dedicated to celebrating 100 years of Disney around the world. It was on this day, a century ago, that Walt Disney and his brother Roy founded the animation studios that would later become the famous Walt Disney Company.

In France, at Disneyland Paris on 16 October, visitors to the park will be treated to a brand new programme of festivities all day long. Never before seen!

And because Disney never does things by halves, the commemorations will continue through theHalloween and Christmas events. They began this summer with the Disney+ broadcast of 28 fully restored short films from the golden age of animation.

On 11 and 12 November, two performances in Paris will celebrate 100 years of films and music from the Disney catalogue, before embarking on a national tour.

A Halloween festival from 1 October

Halloween is All Hallows' Eve, celebrated on the evening of 31 October. That's when Jack O'Lantern is everywhere, with his broad smile backlit by a candle in his toothless pumpkin face!

Disney's Halloween Festival will be taking place at Disneyland Paris from 1 October to 5 November. 3 attractions will set the tone: Prankster Spirits, led by the ever-cheerful Mickey and his cohort of friends dressed up like Jack O'Lantern for the occasion, and Disney Villains, which are, as their name suggests, the villains of the Disney universe who are always ready to give you a fright.

Not forgetting the Mysterious Guests of the Haunted Mansion in all the Disney Parks. It's no coincidence that the film Haunted Mansion, conceived and produced by Disney and starring Danny DeVito and Rosario Dawson, has just been released in cinemas.

And yes, at Disney, Christmas comes early. Every child's dream. So get ready for the famous Christmas parade, which every year delights all the families who come for the occasion. This winter, no fewer than 100 characters will be parading around with great fanfare, in perfect Christmas spirit, festive and carefree. Even Father Christmas will be there!

You'll also have the chance to sing along to the Christmas Carol musical or meet your favourite characters in their festive outfits! But the festivities wouldn't be complete without a Christmas market. No problem: Disney will be opening its charming gourmet chalets for you to enjoy their sweets and other Christmas specialities. This will be theHiver Gourmand, from 10 November 2023 to 17 March 2024.

And once again this year, inspired by the spirit of Christmas, Disney's volunteers, the Disney VoluntEARS, will be visiting children in hospital to distribute thousands of gifts. So that everyone can experience the magic of Christmas.

New features for 2024

The Disney Symphony of Colours

"Dream your life in colour, it's the secret of happiness". This adage, coined by Peter Pan in the 1953 cartoon, will serve as the guiding theme for Disney's events at the beginning of the year! As night falls, a new attraction full of colour, movement and joy will take shape before your very eyes, both on the ground and in the air, in a dazzling choreography of luminous drones and iridescent floats.

Disney and Pixar alchemy

From 10 February, a new Disney creation will take your favourite heroes on an all-new musical extravaganza, performed several times a day at the foot of Sleeping Beauty's castle. It's a chance to catch up with Timon from The Lion King or the character of Joie from the excellent Vice Versa, surrounded by Mickey and his friends.

Alice in Wonderland , the reboot

A new Alice in Wonderland

Disney never stops reinventing itself. The proof is in the new Alice in Wonderland show, due to open in spring at Walt Disney Studios Park. How do you turn a classic into something new? That's the magic of Disney!
